I know this is trivial in the grand scheme of things, but where's the Monterey dynamic desktop? I am a fan of those and have been waiting to see this year's, but so far it's a no show. Instead we only have a light and dark desktop. Surely Apple wouldn't retire this feature so soon?

Had no issues installing from Software Update + beta profile last night (on Mac in signature 👇).

Seems smooth enough; Mail, Plex, Reeder, Sonarr, etc. all seem to work fine. Safari, too, but I can't say I love the tabs. Glad I remembered to turn off Time Machine backups last night - just in case.

Can anyone confirm whether the Mac TV app still has the same rubbish search facility as on Big Sur? On my iPad I can happily search for genres such as independent movies or DogWoof documentaries, or my Wishlist movies. The TV app is sadly missing these features.

I can’t install / download beta 4 it’s stuck at downloading……
Same problem here with installing Beta 4. I'm on a MacBook Air (M1, 2020). I've tried several times, and I get stuck in the "preparing" stage with 25 minutes left. I have not been able to get it to complete.

When folk talk about deleting the beta profile, do they mean removing the machine from the beta program then re-enrolling. Or is there a beta profile somewhere that I need to delete?

Yeah, and there are no static Monterey landscape desktops either, are there? They've been there since the initial announcement on previous versions. Seems odd if they are continuing with the place name convention for macOS that they are not continuing with the accompanying desktop imagery.

Remove enrollment, reboot, install the enrollment again and then reboot then update
Did all that, spent about two hours waiting (it was stuck at the 25 minute mark for a LONG time), then I got a notification that a restart was required, system asked for my password, I entered it, then nothing. Restarted and update does not start (it just logged in as normal).

It does seem odd. Perhaps there's just been a delay of some kind with the Monterey imagery this year. Time will tell I guess

You download these wallpapers instead now. Even Dynamic Desktop - edit.. to be fair.. last time I checked in with the public beta of Monterey was the previous public beta and there was download buttons on most all wallpapers.

I would like to disqualify myself from commenting on things I haven't had hands on with for a while - perhaps there really isn't a Monterey Dynamic Wallpaper - sads-

The Monterey public beta and developer releases do not have any Monterey-specific location/landmark/landscape desktop pictures, static or dynamic.

Ya'll, I finally got beta 4 loaded. I think it was just a lesson in patience. For some reason, this one takes a LONG time, at least for me. Also I learned that once you enter your password per attached, let the system restart itself, don't manually restart.

Is there not even a hint here?

Of course you can download these wallpaper images from various websites but that doesn't meant they're not built into the OS

Precisely. It seems unlikely that would abandon the landscape photography while continuing the California naming scheme: for one thing it's are a big, eye-catching visual differentiator. And dynamic desktops only debuted with Mojave in 2018. I suspect the Monterey photography is on its way - there's just been some kind of delay
