To be honest the most interesting news today.
From: http://www.apple.com/creativity-apps/mac/
* Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are free on the Mac App Store for qualifying Mac computers purchased on or after October 1, 2013. OS X Mavericks required. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID.
** GarageBand is free on the Mac App Store for all compatible Mac computers with OS X Mavericks. Additional GarageBand instruments and sounds are available with an in-app purchase. Downloading apps requires an Apple ID.
So, if I purchased my new iMac online on 9/24, but it wasn't available at the Apple store till 10/04, I'm out of luck?
Just checked with Apple Suport: for those of us who placed an order on the Apple Store prior to Oct 1st but had their order shipped on Oct 1st or later: the "purchased on" date is the ship date, so in this example (which is mine) you would qualify.
Or the other versions became more powerful?
not cool as i got my mac book air on the last day of september. guess i will use the money set aside for mavericks to update to the new apps
Just realized that 10.9 Mavericks is required to install and run the new iWork suite. Kinda bummed about that.
They did the same thing with the change from MobileMe to iCloud (wasn't backward compatible with 10.6, had to upgrade to 10.7 Lion). I'm getting kinda tired of these all-or-nothing upgrades. Are these various applications REALLY that tied-in to each successive operating system?![]()
i hate to be the one but i dont understand those icons, they arent flat at all
something like this would have made a lot more sense
e. g. iPhoto

agree here. Was looking forward to these more than anything else. iWork was so outdated by now.
You keep quiet! Don't give them any ideas!![]()
1) what the heck is going on with Aperture?
2) when do these softwares become available?
OS X is not flat (yet), why should they make the app icons flat?i hate to be the one but i dont understand those icons, they arent flat at all

What's wrong with that icon? It's flat done in a good way.
So buying the new iPad will give me iWork and iLife dree on both iOS and OSX?
People are asking because the wording says OR, which would mean that you get both versions.
So you will see the new iWork in the app store once you update?
