Apple Releases OS X 10.10.3 Supplemental Update With Video Driver Fix

What graphics card do you have ?

I have the built in GPU (Intel HD Graphics 4000).

It's a 2013 Macbook Pro 13". Apple said there was some program to replace logic boards on the 15" but that the 13" version didn't have the hardware bug. Actually when they simply restored to 10.10.2 things were fine.

Too Much Time

I for one getting tired of updating, troubleshooting, workarounds, and searching forums, to make Apple products work. Never ending. I purchase Apple products to make my life simpler, more enjoyable, and use the products. (End of Rant)
Anyway, thanks to all of you who are willing to allocate the amount of time you do for us. Greatly appreciated.

No, its not. But it is a little surprising that with all the developers testing plus the million public testers, that not one of them had this use case. And yet the issue was significant enough to warrant a quick supplemental update.

I had this issue and reported it to them after every public beta release.

I always wonder what type of dark magic MacRumor users are into because I've never had any of these WiFi issues, bugs or freeze problems and have the newest Yosemite updates installed on a 2013 iMac, a 2008 iMac and a 2012 Mac Mini....

The last update was 2 gig for me... and my Wifi's dropping more then ever before on OSX.... anyone else got that?

I hope this fixes the bug in safari that causes it to freeze and then unexpectedly shutdown. Has this problem on the 10.10.3 beta and then Apple genius said wasn't hardware issue, factory reinstalled the OS to 10.10.2 and it never happened. Since 10.10.3 was released, it has been happening again. At least once per day. Always when scrolling in Safari.

I had this problem in 10.10 (upgrade from 10.9). Scrolling in safari would completely freeze the computer randomly (no beach ball or anything, just freeze)

I installed 10.10 clean, and no issue since including 10.10.3. I didn't install all the software I had before, so I was curious if is was some software that I didn't re-install causing the issue.

I had same issue w/ 10.10.3 beta. Went away with clean install of 10.10.2 and now it's back with 10.10.3. Will see if this latest update helps but seems like a pretty narrowly target issue they patched.

Thumbs up to Apple for fixing the early 2015 13 inch Retina MacBook Pros, my fans constantly kicked in even at random times such as logging into OS X with the reopen windows when logged back' option was off.

Gaming is also improved which means the fans are not kicking in and the battery drain is far less than the previous versions of OS X, I knew it wasn't an issue with my MacBook because I took it to my nearest Apple Store and their diagnostic test was positive.

Now all the reviews saying that the machine gets hot needs re-reviewing. :)

The most common reason people have poor battery life in OS X is Chrome / Flash, or worse, Chrome+Flash.

It might be just subjective feeling, or it might be machine's reboot, but GUI seems to work smoother.

"It works, just…"
:D

Nice to see Apple putting out fixes already. Get those WiFi bugs nailed down and people will be happy (making me wonder if they'll do that before the next release).

when are they going to fix the photos app bug? The settings to not copy photos to photo library is not working The photos app is ignoring the settings

Sorry to hear your experiencing this, but totally a v1.0 software problem. Apple should have made Photo's an option and kept iPhoto available and the default for 6 months to a year while they get the initial bugs worked out of Photos cause they were going to be there.
