Got that one going just about 1:05pm EDT. It's 1.24gb and you could see the traffic suddenly hit the servers as it went from 9 minutes remaining to over 2 hours remaining for the download. We'll see...

Then it's off to iTunes to get iOS5...
It's Christmas in October, somehow I think Steve has a BIG SMILE on his face, knowing all his work is coming to fruition.

Nice Work Steve & Company,

Thank You

Was downloading in 3 minutes then it came to a screeching halt after this announcement was made on MacRumors :( Now it's 42 minutes and increasing! Increased to 4 hours before I could finish this post :(

Can someone post the changelog of Safari 5.1.1, please? The support site isn't working for me.

So, no iCloud for SL. At least not yet. That'll have me postponing transition from MobileMe to iCloud quite possibly until June 2012.

However we get a new Safari, and some security update:

started at 13 mins... now at "about 2 hours" ... wait ... 41 mins..... "About an hour" ..... 53 mins.... "about 2 hours"....

Wow. The download time climbed from "12 minutes" to "2 hours" (and still climbing). Guess I'll have to leave it running...something to play with when I get home from work tonight.

I was hoping today would see the release of 10.6.9 with iCloud support as well, but no dice I guess.

Said iPod update was here, but iPad 2 is not. Now it says no updates available. Come on, I just want to update everything.

This is what it means to be a Mac user. Thank you Apple!

I just wish Steve was here to see it all happen. Kinda hoping he'll jump out of an iCloud once I've rebooted and say 'HAHA FOOLED YA!'.

But still…
