Can't believe all the people having issues with Lion in this thread. Besides the CUI CUI CUI error, which is an actual problem. (Or just complaining about feature requests, most of the time).

There is a way to troubleshoot your issues, you know.

1. Do a clean install.
2. Don't restore anything from a Time Machine Backup. Manually copy and paste your documents to your new install.
3. Install your applications one by one, restarting your computer and going awhile without installing another one to note any performance changes.
4. Identify the problem app.

This sort of stuff is what you always hear from people offering tech support for troubleshooting Windows PCs.
It is a waste of time in 90% of cases, but it keeps people busy and out of their hair for a day or two.
Whatever happened to "it just works"?

The only bug I have now is that my Instapaper Extension icon is not visible.

Other than that, 10.7.3 runs just fine on three updated Macs. Just wish Apple would release iOS 5.1

The only change I can see after updating my system is significantly increased amount of heat which my MacBook has to deal with. I don't know how about you, but CPU heated up to 75°C while running nothing but Mail, Safari and iTunes does NOT seem OK to me.

This is within normal temperature range and is temporary when after a System update, Mac OS X reindexes the file system which is CPU intensive. Return to low end "normal" within 30min or so. Try iStat. Shows you CPU activity as it relates to temperature.

I'm still having major WLAN dropouts and need to turn off/on airport on my MBP13. SO ****ING ANNOYING!

It's a computer. Nothing "Just Works" with the amount of variables possible with a computer OS.

What issues ?

When using VNC to remotely control the desktop with two displays, instead of showing the desktop it shows the linen background on both screens.

You cannot watch a movie in full screen (or use any app in full screen) on a secondary monitor. They go to the primary monitor by default and there is no setting to change this.

Message 5.2

Message 5.2? Is this a new app for Mac?
Or am I misunderstanding the error screen?

Happened because the new OS conflicted with 'Attachment Tamer'...

Anybody else notice the mouse is different in 10.7.3 when you hover over links as compared to 10.7.2 ;o

The pointer finger is more slanted than straight up now.

How was it broken? We've been testing a Lion image on one of our Macs and can log into the domain just fine. It even mounts an smb share as the user's home directory and it all works like a treat.

We haven't done extensive testing, and plan to put out a call for guinea pigs soon, but so far what we've tried works.

In our environment, Lion was unable to log onto a domain at all (Windows Server 2003, pretty bog-standard setup).

We tried everything we could to log on, with no luck. Calling in the Apple experts from our local corporate reseller led to the verdict: "It doesn't like your domain controller, just give up for now and wait for a fix, we've seen this with Server 2003 and Lion all the time, nothing you can do".

Months later, it looks like this update is designed to fix the issue, but we've packed up the Lion iMacs into storage and replaced them with Windows PCs for now (we were promised the issue would be fixed in "a few weeks", so we didn't bother downgrading them to SL, and put in some temporary PC boxes which are working fine). Testing and deploying Lion will have to wait for another day.

Good catch, pity they couldn’t fix actual bugs.

Software update gave me a 700mb download, everything was fine but I did a combo update anyway.

Safari seems faster, smoother, and the back animation doesn’t reload the page, which it did before.

Wake from sleep takes less time to show the log in screen (less than one second: before it was 1-2 seconds).

Graphic fix and Deep Sleep fix

This update finally fixed my MBP 2011 17 inch graphic freeze when using Automatic Graphic Switching.

Previously I had to have this disabled all of the time and it was a killer for the battery.

Also I have not experienced any deep sleep problems since the update.

I was running all day different apps from Photoshop to VLC and FCPX and no issues.

It was time Apple to fix this.

Some other changes that I and others have noticed:

-Netflix (AKA the Silverlight Plugin) no longer forces the dedicated GPU, which is awesome. Though I sometimes wonder what the point of a dedicated GPU if nothing is ever going to use it (outside of Gaming and stuff like graphics apps, of course).

And others:

First, 10.7.3 restores the ability to start dragging with your thumb in a fullscreen app and use your other three or four fingers (Depending on your setup) to switch to another space. Conversely you can also drag to the edge of the screen and after a few seconds it will switch. This fix connects to the next fix...

Second, you can now drag from one fullscreen app and drop on another.

And lastly, you can ALSO drag from the Finder or non-fullscreen app into a fullscreen app without having to drag to the Dock and wait for the app to activate.

:knockonwood: On my early 2007 2.16 C2D MBP (X1600 ATI w/ 128MB VRAM), this update seems to have resolved most of my issues w/ daily, intermittent system freezes/kernel panics, at least during "normal" use. There are still issues w/ playing video (using QT/VLC/M PlayerX), regardless of codec, but especially if it's HD (720p)--system still freezes, video usually stops, audio continues, no input accepted via KB or mouse, have to hold down power button to shutdown.

I have clean (erase & install) installed Lion twice, the last time coincidentally about 24 hours before 10.7.3 was released). I'm guessing my hardware is simply not up to the task to use Lion for video playback (I can boot SL from a firewire drive & play videos w/ no issues). And no, I'm not one of those peeps who think Apple is required to support my hardware to infinity... All in all, I'm enjoying Lion much more now, other than video playback.

Does anyone know if this update addresses the multiple issues with dual displays?

For me it only added a new one that wasn't there in 10.7.2. Now when I sleep my MBP (2009 13") with an external display attached (using the power button or apple menu, as closing the lid never worked that way in Lion - it's a feature), it won't wake up properly. When I try to wake, the laptop display stays black, the external dipslay shows the desktop frozen, with the clock still on the hour I put it to sleep, no cursor, completely unresponsive. The computer itself isn't frozen, as I can ssh into it, it's just the UI. Disconnecting/reconnecting the external display doesn't help.
When I disconnect the external display before sleeping, it sleeps and wakes up properly. With 10.7.2 (and all the previous versions) it's never been a problem. Did the combo update, permission repair, no effect.

Yep, Mail crashes for me each and every single time I compose a new message, right after it auto-saves (I can "feel" it autosave, I'm pretty sure).

What's wrong with your Time Machine? I haven't noticed any issues with it, but then I haven't really checked either, so maybe there's something I should be aware of?

Well, TM (and/or Finder) just drop connection with my USB HD after waking up from sleep (popping up messages saying (1) "TM backup could not be completed..." usually followed by (2) "A drive was not properly ejected, you may have lost some data" and yadia yadia...) even if the HD keep showing on the desktop. Then, I can't even eject the HD without a hard shutdown of the HD (which obviously trigger the message about the drive not being properly ejected).

When I'm using my Mac without any sleep time, I don't have such messages and TM backups complete with no issues.

Did they bring back the fine-grade volume controls (shift-option-volume up/down)?

Doesn't appear so - and to make things worse I have no sound level control at all anymore since install OSX 10.7.3

System preferences>Sound gives me a window of the sound setup with a ticked mute box - which is greyed out and can't be un-ticked.

I spent 2 hours trying everything (PRAMM reset / midi controls master mute - everything) and can't resolve.

I spent £35 with Applecare today, he tried new user account, audio setup, and PRAMM and bits - and eventually said "your OSX 10.7.3 must be corrupt, we need to re-install it." He initiates the re-install and says bye....

So, two hours later after the re-install - my mac is giving me volume level control - for 15 minutes. After which the volume level control function failed again - and is yet again greyed out in system preferences.

Some programmes will give me sound (Premiere Pro - bless it), others (Apple made - Safari, iTunes, garage etc... no sound).

Everything else in 10.7.3 works for me at the mo... fingers crossed (WISH I had not said that.... :) )
