I can confirm that the Arabic Text Exploit/Bug that crashes Safari has been fixed in 10.8.5 - that line of text does not crash Safari anymore, running OS X 10.8.5. This crashed my machine on 10.8.4 when I viewed this text in Safari or Messages. Apparently the bug was in WebKit, and now the bug is fixed.

I just installed this, it broke my Bluetooth trackpad gestures, even with multiple power downs. What worked was to reset the smc (when the chime starts, hold command/option/p/r keys at the same time.)

After that everything worked normally again.

WOW! You are the first person that I know that is having the same issue. I rarely get that, but when I do it is very annoying.

Happens to me all the time as well. Let's hope it fixes it or makes it less frequent at least.

Praise the Lord! I've been reporting the mail bug for months now!

If this what I think it is, then I've been having the same problem with Mail, too. Suddenly it will decide it won't show any messages and I have to quit and re-open Mail for it to show any again (which is generally not quick). Thought it was because I had too many emails in my inbox, but spent a bunch of time moving messages into other folders and still have the problem.

Although I generally like ML, I find it to be sluggish overall on my Macbook Pro (mid-2011). Here's hoping Mavericks will fix some things that are rough around the edges.

How do you get the warning message to go away when you select Shut Down from the Apple menu? I have not figured this out. I know how to get the Trash warning to go away in the Finder Advanced Prefs but I can't figure out how to get the shutdown dialogue to go away, and simply SHUT DOWN when I select it in the menu!!!

This one's not listed in the fixes but....

...anyone else ever had an issue with their iMac not picking up an SD Card when you insert it?
Mine hasn't worked since new, I always had to reboot with it in the slot to pickup.

Don't know why I thought to try but since this update, EVERY time I now insert an SD Card it picks straight up.
Anyone else had this issue and can try it to confirm?

If it's finally fixed I shall be so bloody happy!

No, you're not alone. I've had it occur sporadically with Safari where the pointer would disappear but any mouse-over triggers on the webpage would be actioned when the invisible pointer tracked over it.

It's a problem for me also, but only on one website which uses Silverlight (*spits) to stream video.
It's so chuffin' annoying.

External Hard DRive Won't Mount

After installing 10.8.5 update my Seagate external hard drive that I use as my Time Machine backup won't mount. I can see it in Disk Utility, but it refuses to mount.

Anyone else? Suggestions?

Hold down Alt.

Menu bar lag?

Anyone have an issue where the menu bar was acting with a serious lag for the first 2 or so minutes after installation? All seems fine now though

Mail not fixed

Well the update does not fix my email problem. My exchange server email still disappears. Maybe I should just try Mavericks.
