Is anyone experiencing some wonkyness with iCloud notes syncing? I check the box in sys prefs, it spins for a while and then the spinner freezes, and while the notes app lists my iCloud account as an account in its sidebar, my notes aren't actually synced. Tried making a new user account and still getting the behavior.

Is anyone having trouble logging into their twitter account in system preferences?

My update is stuck at the "Completing Installation" screen with "Less than a minute remaining". Been stuck here for close to 15 minutes.

mine was stuck there all night. i just held down the power button until it shut off and turned it back on. No problems since.

It means Apple is just fixing bugs and close to the final version

Nope. And release isn't until fall, there's plenty of time to make changes. Some seeds will have more bug fixes, others will have more feature tweaks. This one has plenty of both considering how short a time it has been since DP1.

Lets be honest here, Lion, Mountain Lion & Mavericks are just small incremental updates. OS X clearly has not been a priority

Less of a priority means releasing updates more often? OSX releases used to take two years or more, is it a realistic expectation for an update that takes half as long to add as many new features? Not to mention that the price is a fraction of what it used to be ($129). If you want it like the old days, just pretend that two out of three releases don't exist and update every three years instead of every year. Problem solved.

I know, all my "adult activity" sites show up all the time.

If I were to have this hypothetical issue, I would've fixed it by simply pinning a few innocuous pages to the top sites list. If you pin a site, it never gets replaced by others, meaning all your "private" pages stay out of top sites.

Let's be honest here, Mac OS X is a very mature system that runs very stable and is full featured. Why do we need more frilly features? Do you need eye candy to make you feel better about your new OS or do you want it work?
Yeah, sure, Windows 8 is all shiny and new with that ridiculous Metro UI, but let's be honest here, it's something frilly and new and Microsoft thinks they reinvented the wheel, even though it's just an AOL clone. At the end of the day W8 just sucks. Pretty doesn't make for better.

I guess you've never taken into account that Apple may do more things under the hood of OS X so the user can have a better computing experience? You may need Frills, I need a working system and Apple puts that out with Mac OS X so I cannot and will not agree with you that they are neglecting OS X. This has been harped on for years now and frankly it's gotten tiring.

When did I say I wanted a Windows 8 clone with eye candy & plenty of frills? I didn't even mention Microsoft or Windows so I don't understand the point you are making.

Your integrity took a dive with the "Windows 8 sucks" comment. It just shows you can't adapt to change hence why you are more than happy with the pace of OS X is evolving.

I really.....

hope Apple delivers a polished, ironed and the most bug free OS possible. Hope the simplicity right out the box. Does not matter about the name.....:D, but wonder about the change in name scheme

:):apple:

any chances we will see UI changes for game center, reminders, photobooth? they all have the iOS 6 look and feel. to me it would seem strange to update calendar and notes and not the others :( looks like a half baked OS X update.

For trackpads, drag the pointer to the bottom of the screen then pull down again and hold with finger, fixed.

That works, but its a rather unwieldy way to activate the dock. The old solution worked well and I'm surprised Apple decided to change it.

I agree the old solution worked well but it also worked unintentionally too, constantly having the dock pop up when you weren't trying to summon it was annoying at times.

I didn't know this, but this is incredibly useful. Just because I check Yahoo Fantasy Baseball 20 times a day doesn't mean I want it on that top sites page.

It was an example. Get over it.
