By trackpad i mean one that clicks down no matter where u click it as opposed to two buttons on the bottom. It might suit you to do that but given all the complaints i've been hearing from everywhere I doubt the majority would agree. Also, I love your assumption that I used it for 5 minutes. I guess dissenting opinions simply are not allowed to exist just because you don't agree. I used it for a good 3-4 months before getting my macbook.

A majority probably wouldn't. Don't think that the loud minority is a majority.

Smooth scrolling is substantially improved. I just tested The Verge and it is butter smooth, no other browser can run it so well. Battery life seems improved as well, show over 9hrs with 96% of its original capacity battery.

So by "laptop with no trackpad" you meant 95% of laptops that are not Mac's. Got it.

I'm not saying Dissenting opinions don't matter, but my opinion is that a lot of the hate towards windows 8 simply comes from people hearing negative opinions about it and simply adopting the same opinion without every giving it a chance.

If you tried it for several months, and didn't like it then, fine. But its not that terrible of an OS.

I updated a few minutes ago. However, build number on about this mac screen didn't change. It is really weird. When I check for updates, there is no available update. What happened? I didn't understand.

A full installer for DP2 is now available on the mac dev center but I can't redeem my code again. Is there some way of obtaining another code (without spending a lot of money setting up multiple developer accounts)? The only other way will be torrents but I want to avoid that if I can.

I got the update already from the mas but I want the full installer to make another bootable usb for DP 2

CleanMyMac

I got a mail from the folks who wrote this telling me not to use it with Maveriks. It will trash the system. They are aware. Don't use it at all.

No iBooks but glad to see the "Send to iPhone" now works with Maps. That is such a good feature.

Even if it does you should not use this or any similar App, like MacKeeper and CCleaner, they are all rubbish and you should trash them ASAP.
Plenty of reported problems with these 3 Apps, if you have to use one use Onyx, but only when having problems.

Same problem here. Also Apple deactivated DP1 so it won't even install even if you have in the in MAS. Just get a half directory.

They pretty sure don't seem to be behind schedule. That's quite a high build number already compared with Mountain Lion back a year ago.

iBooks will be available about a month before OS X Mavericks launches. They will want developers to test… however it's still a work in progress…

However the 3 year old Kindle.app still works for ebooks ;-)

My gut says that it will be App Store download later date, just like iOS platform.

10.8 or 10.7? It appears so, though you wouldn't want to do it in developer mode… Too much broken stuff…

Always start with a brand new clean system when testing dev builds

Can you upgrade from Lion to Mavericks?

If I were to have this hypothetical issue, I would've fixed it by simply pinning a few innocuous pages to the top sites list. If you pin a site, it never gets replaced by others, meaning all your "private" pages stay out of top sites.

I love hypothetical issues :D

This is poor development on their part to not put a system check in before running their application. Aka if it detects 10.9 instead of 10.8 CleanMyMac should not allow anything to run…

Appleseed has a page for redemption codes, and they've added a new button to request a code specifically for DP2. I assume the dev page has something similar somewhere.

And the builds themselves are extremely stable for first releases, many people have commented that these are the most solid first betas they've ever seen from Apple. Sure, there are plenty of issues and incompatibilities, but fewer than in the past.

Probably even from 10.6.8. It downloads a full installer, so you can install it on a new blank drive.

Absolutely not true, I have been using it since the 15th of June and it has not impacted my main hard drive. Presently, I have Mavericks on a partitioned external hard drive.

Not that good

Yesterday I installed DP2. Lotus Notes v9 stop working properly, it did on DP1. Version 8.5.3 didn't run at all. Asking for information on a file doesn't work and you need to restart Finder to fix it. Window redrawing is somehow worse than before. All other programs working fine for the moment.
