Ouch. Have they always charged you for the Apple remote? Because they do now. $19.
There is already 3 USB Ports in the MBP, I'm glad I bought a MBP before. This is a kinda poor update.
No mag latch
No higher res screens
No new keyboard
No HD optical drive
No price drop
No new GFX card (not that one was really available)
If Im correct (i may be wrong) it wont say penryn itll be core duo but with 45nm technology not 65nm technology.
Hold on, didn't they say Multi-Touth was exclusive for MBAir ?
No, they didn't - mine came with my 17" MBP for free. Cheap bastards. If you're going to pay damned near $3000 for a laptop then they can throw in a bloody $20 remote control for free. Normally you get more stuff as standard with later models, not less...
I wasn't in the market for a new MBP but I'm honestly pretty disgusted to see that the remote is an "optional extra" now. For shame, Apple.

Thank You Jesus

I'll be accepting apologies now from everyone who lashed into me for saying I knew someone at Apple (who would know) and confirmed there would be no updates last week, but that instead MBP's would see an update on the last week of February.
Wow I didn't think it was possible for a macbook pro to feel old yet. I wonder how my 1ghz titianium powerbook feels then? I so wish I could afford a new one, but don't got the three thousand dollars right now. argg
I am really confused, probably like other people. The European versions of the 2 later MBP models only have 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM in the graphics cards whereas the US version have 512MB!

What a con!
I am pretty sure the Macbook Air has the iPhone screen digitizer driving the touchpad on it, meaning that it IS in fact a hardware solution. Much as I don't want it to be.There was a report awhile back in which, if memory serves, an Apple rep said that it was purely software (touchpad drivers, etc.) and not a hardware upgrade. A bigger trackpad might be useful, I suppose, but there shouldn't even be anything limiting the inclusion of multitouch in order machines (something Apple typically doesn't do, if anyone's had an iPod heh).
This doesn't get at the question directly, but it does hint that there should be no reason to put it in other machines.
