I have an insane number of microfiber cloths, most of which came from the dollar store. They work just fine on my electronics. I'll just use those.

Will there be a Polishing Cloth Pro and a Polishing Cloth Pro Max version? :D
Oh, and a "Mini" version for mini devices? :p

I would love to get some details on it. I mean yes it sounds ridiculous, but if it's really good then yeah I would consider getting one. They used to give one with the iPhone. It was black color and worked better than anything else I've used

Make no mistake. For all the jokes, negative comments, and estimated ships dates, Apple is already making a killing on this. Im just blown away by the lack of information to justify the price? At least let us know the dimensions! Is this cloth the size of micro fiber ones that come with a pair of sunglasses?? Looks more like a micro fiber sponge. I cannot wait for the reviews. Lol

They're not selling these to make money (really). They're awash in money already. Seriously awash.

They get bombarded with questions on how to clean the displays, so they decided to offer their own cloth. Simple as that. Nothing particularly special about this cloth (if there was, they would be touting it), other than it being suitable for use in cleaning the laptop or iPad or iMac displays.

As to how they come up with a price of $19 rather than selling it for $10, or $5, or even $1, I have no idea. But regardless of the price, just run the numbers, no matter how many they sell it's not going to make the slightest difference. Is there anything on the Apple website that is less than $19? They don't offer the ability to sort their store by price, so hard to tell.

I agree that it's not going to be a new slice on their revenue pie chart; but it'd be naïve to say that they're not doing this for money.

Unit cost of one of these is going to be negligible, the gross margin on these are going to be close to 100%

If they were doing this purely to address cleaning concerns about their products; they could just as easily include them in the box with their products - it'd add negligible unit cost to their BOM. But they don't, because of money.

Even if it costs them 2 cents a piece; choosing not to include them on 200M products shipped a year saves them 4 million bucks. A drop in the ocean compared to their total revenue, but it's enough money for a product manager to have earned a decent bonus.

This product isn't going to be a big earner for them, but it probably cost nothing to develop; and they'll still probably sell a million units a year at close to 100% gross margin. It's entirely worthwhile doing; and that was my original point.

Apple sell the 3.5mm to lightning audio adaptor for $6 I think; the one that they used to give away with the iPhone 8 & iPhone X but then removed them and put them for sale instead.

Still have mine

Why are these Apple Clothes not in the box of any new Apple product bought in the past 5 years? This clothes costs Apple less than $0.50 I’m sure of it.
