Still no fix to keep it from hanging when loading web pages. :( or is that what the new Flash player update on Apple's site is for?

Haven't had that issue. Haven't applied any Flash updates either.

I just updated my Safarri. What a mistake... Totally unusable now! I disabled the anti-phising thing, and that at least got me to open my normal bookmarks. But other than that... Crashes, crashes, crashes. New window? Random spinning cursor or crash. Adding a bookmark? Random spinning cursor or crash. How can they miss a total piece of **** like this in their testing? I have uninstalled every plugin there was, and now I can run about 10 min before a spinning cursor and crash. Come on, Apple!

Try resetting Safari (click Safari in the menu bar --> Reset).

I restored the old one through Time Machine, and now I'm back to normal. The update even broke the Real Player app. I got 1 frame every 10 sec after installing the new Safari.

No problems like what saab is talking about but I don't see the green writing that others here have posted screen shots of.

My safari has been pretty slow after the update. It seems to "Think" before it decides to open web pages.

I don't know if it's due to the anti-phishing stuff, but I'm sad I lost my zippy-performance....

Safari Crashing

I also have been having a horrible time with this update. Safari crashes constantly. Crashes are typically tied to having more than one browser window or tab open at a time. Important to note; I have PithHelmet installed. Disabling PithHelmet does not stop the crashes.

You need to completely uninstall PitHelmet and not just disable it. PitHelmet only works with Safari 3.1 (or earlier versions). For 3.2 and later, use GlimmerBlocker or SafariBlock.

a good site to demonstrate the new suspected Malware warning as its even harder to find one than stumble across one http://www.macmod.com/content/view/725/.

dont worry the site is safe it compares OWC & SIIG SATA PCI cards. anyone know why its flagged with malware? (maybe dont buy anything from that site).

the warning just appears within Safari so you are free to change tabs and clicking ignore brings up another "Are you sure" dialogue box.

Just a thought for those having issues with the new Safari. Have you tried ditching all the existing caches with a program like Onyx and then rebooting?

I had issue after issue with a Quicktime update once, but I did a clean out with Onyx and it solved the problems in one go.

Not available in software update?

Why doesn't this new Safari appear in my Software Update checks?

Dumped pithhelmet, don't seem to be having any problems now, which is good, cause I like Safari much better than firefox.

If you have Tiger or Leopard, and Safari 3.0, you should see it. Otherwise you could try and download it from here.

I already downloaded it. I'm running Leopard (10.5.5) but since it didn't appear in Software Update I thought perhaps SU "knew" it wasn't suitable for my PPC machines (PBG4 and G5) or something..?

Are all the problems due to installed Safari extras? I have Safaritidy and 1Password. Wouldn't like the headache of reinstalling 3.1.2...

PithHelmet still doesn't seem to be updated. Thanks for the recommendation on the other 2 ad blockers. I can't surf the web without one.
