Apple has released Safari 5.1.5 just two weeks after the release of 5.1.4. The update is a minor one, however, with just one noted bug fix:
The issue with 32-bit mode had been noticed previously by several of our readers.

Safari 5.1.5 can be downloaded from Apple's Safari download page or via Software Update.

Safari 5.2 was seeded to developers earlier this year as part of the Mountain Lion preview release. Among the new additions are a unified address/search bar, new persistent Reader icon that is blue when available and grey when inactive, and new URL styling to highlight the domain the page is on while deemphasizing other aspects of the URL. It should be available later this year.

I like it so far.

Safari has been horrible on my iMac since 5.1.4

I have gotten more beach balls and stuttering video in the past few weeks since updating safari than maybe the previous four years combined. Youtube videos, html5 or flash, WILL NOT play on safari without stuttering and pausing and the audio working while the picture is frozen. Vimeo works fine. I don't know if it's just me or something else is wrong, but I have had no choice but to use Chrome which I'm not a big fan of. Anyone else having similar problems? Oh, and updating to 5.1.5 obviously did nothing to alleviate the problem.

I've gone from less than 500 MB memory being used to over 3 GB with this POS. Only thing that fixes it is to close everything down, restart, and then I can't leave too many windows open. POS.

The most I've ever seen on mine, was a few versions of Safari back, where it used well over 5 GB. I haven't looked at it lately to see what it uses as I'm actually using Google Chrome right now - at least for the past week.

I've dealt with it for the past few days. Anyway, I decided to use Time Machine. Unfortunately, my last backup was 5.1.2, but it seems to be working correctly. Serves me right for updating so soon. Usually, I wait awhile to see if there aren't any problems.

I'm running 5.1.5 on a mid-2012 MBP, which is anything but slow for me. Now it feels like my old iBook on Tiger, because if I have even one window open in Safari, it freezes my whole computer within minutes. Takes about 5 minutes to come out of screen saver, and about a 10-second lag for typing input. Eventually things start crashing. Restarting doesn't help at all, and if I restart and never run Safari, everything seems fine.

I have basically every other browser out there, but Safari is my preferred browser for a variety of reasons. Anyone else having these issues?

Very buggy for me

I'm on a Mac 10.6.8. A notification popped up a few weeks ago about Safari while I was working on something else, so I clicked on it, and now 5.1.5 will not save any of my passwords. They are all gone. I'm asked each time if I want to save the password, I click Yes, but it doesn't save.

Now, Safari keeps crashing and regardless of what site I'm visiting, I get the message, "Safari quit unexpectedly while using the .gamehousepizzachef.png plugin."

what annoys me most is the fact that i unchecked the itunes and the safari updates, intending to only install the java and the raw updates since there are many reports about issues with those two updates. but safari has been updated nevertheless.
