I'm part of the public beta testing program. But I can't see the new beta when i go to settings > general > software update
That happened to me too. I think somehow the beta tester profile got removed when I went to the 9.1 final release. I reinstalled the beta profile and it came up.

Task Switcher is much improved. Very smooth and easier to kill apps.

9.1 made a huge improvement in the task switcher performance - are you saying 9.2 is even better? 9.1 is super smooth the way it is, so it's hard to imagine being able to make it much better.

What I noticed is, each app in the task switcher "locks"into place and thus is easier to kill. Before, the apps would fly by and not pause on the screen, making it more difficult to kill them.

Edit to add: I just rea in the Wiki thread what I am describing is a new feature activated when you have reduce motion on. If you don't have reduce motion on, then it has more of the 3-D appearance.

That's only with Reduce Motion on.

I had some memory update lag issues with 9.2.b1 but they are gone now - the upgrade to beta 2 went smooth and it feels a lot better.

I'm thinking late December, maybe January.

The 9.1 cycle was way shorter I believe, like 35 days. Would 9.2 be as fast, we can expect it somewhere in the first week of December. Looking at the fact that the second version of 9.2 beta came within a week (9.0 and 9.1 took two weeks), my guess would be by end of this month.

I don't think my 5s will ever be smooth again

Wow that's a great video! It shows that on the 5s just about *everything* done on iOS 9 has an extra 0.25 second delay compared to 8. No wonder it always feels slightly annoying. I wonder what is causing that delay?

Spotlight, CC stutters vs 8.x smoothness (jump to 2:54)
Yeah, CC is still really laggy when pulling it out slowly. And the tester could not even tap cancel to quit spotlight search.
But NC is much better than iOS 9.1 and even 9.0. I think this is a good improvement.

Not sure if it's just me or not. I just got the iPhone 6s Plus and installed the beta 2.
From what I've seen online in reviews and forums, is that the TouchID was EXTREMELY fast.
And not in a good way - it was simply so fast that people couldn't see their lockscreen.

But with iOS 9.2 beta 2, I don't think that's a problem. I haven't tried anything else, but I have no problem pressing the home button, without unlocking my phone immediately.

Could it be that Apple added a "delay" to the TouchID to fix this "problem"?

Touch ID can never be fast enough. The faster it unlocks the phone the better. If you want to see your screen then use a different finger or the power button. There's a reason why you have to set up a finger in touch ID to use it.....

I usually just poke the home button with the tip of my thumbnail to see the screen. Works great. The power button is a better solution. I'd forgotten about it.

I wonder if AT&T's NumberSync will eventually be supported by OS X. It would be great to have NumberSync on a Macintosh laptop or even on an iMac. Turning every computer into a functioning phone that can work even when the iPhone whose number is being shared is away or turned off would be great!

EDIT: I'm not talking about the currentlly available forwarding of calls and SMS text messages to another device on the same Wi-Fi network.

Works now....
