After installing the update and rebooting, I wasnt able to launch Firefox or Safari without it crashing. I then logged into my Admin account and Firefox & Safari worked. I tried repairing permissions, didnt help. I then restarted the computer and everything is working fine now.

So, if anyone has any trouble, restart (2) times after the update.

I had the same problem, but it went past Firefox and Safari. After those crashed on me I tried TextEdit and Dictionary, and they crashed too. Everything I tried to open crashed. Thankfully a reboot fixed it. . .

. . . for now.

I updated on my unibody macbook pro yesterday and somehow lost audio. Now it can't find any audio drivers.. any ideas?

Hi,

G4 PowerMac 867 Leopard - Fine
G4 iBook 1.2 Leopard - Fine
G4 iBook 1.0 Tiger - Fine

The powermac took the longest to install and restart (close to 10 minutes).

X11 crashes :(

After installing the update:

X11 keeps crashing when opening an X window app like emacs off of a server connected to with ssh -Y

10.4.11
iMac4,11

Safari 3.2.2 on my Windows XP machine is not working properly since the update, even after a reboot.

What to do? For now I'm using Firefox on it, seems faster to launch anyway.

every time i right click something in my dock, it gets stuck.
i have to click the menubar to get the menu to disappear.

After installing the security update on Mac pro, upon rebooting my screen does not switch on. Now have to reboot around 5 times before screen switches on at boot! Don't know how a security update could cause this problem.
Any ideas?

This might possibly be a coincidental hardware problem. Do you have any other Mac's available to test the monitor with at start up, and another monitor to test the Mac Pro with?

No other Macs to test. Now it reboots after sleep, never done that before.
Does this update do anything to the firmware? I've upgraded my duals to quads over a year ago.

** Replaced graphics card with original, now working OK apart from why I replaced the original faulty card in the first place. It seems my 2600 XT decided to quit at exactly the same time I installed the update.**

I have 4 new macs in the house, have applied the update to 2 of them and both now are having wifi problems, they cant connect to the base station.

The other two have no problem at all, anyone with similar problems? how do I go back from an update?

Thanks

The updates were for Tiger too. All OS's have bugs. I'm just glad Apple is putting this much attention into fixing them.

Man, I have so many problems with simple Airport connecting to a bloody wifi router since the upgrading to 10.5.
Never had this ammout in 10.4.
And this is by far not everything.
I hope 10.5.11 will come soon.

Anyone else having issues with the Dock after this update?

I've just installed these updates on my core duo iMac (first Gen)/Leopard and getting one annoying issue with the Dock.

The dock seems to "freeze" when clicking on an item that opens a menu/list view (i.e. folders) and/or right-clicking on a dock item and getting a popup menu. The menu and dock seems to ignore all input once this occurs?

In order to be able to use the dock again and/or remove the popup menus I have to cause a new menu to popup elsewhere (i.e. right-click else where on the screen or selecting something from the menu-bar).

I'm more than a little annoyed as I've gotten used to doing everything with the Dock and now it's pretty useless... Any ideas on how to fix this?

Okay, this fixed itself after a few more reboots... Weird.

I installed tried to install this update but the download failed and screwed my HD up. So that it can't even boot. I repaired the disk permissions through single user mode but still wouldn't boot up. So i had to create a new admin account which was surprisingly very easy after a quick google because i forgot the password... then i reset the account password.

Now i got my PPC back up and running on a second HD.

This update ruined my wifi once again, more drop outs and weak signals.

APPLE sucks:mad:

Hmm, me, too - ??

I had to tell System Preferences to forget my WLAN and then rejoin it.

Sounds like you did the same, in a more extreme way - bug methinks!

Until I started reading these posts, I didn't realize my flaky wireless
connection was a result of the updates . . .

My solution was a little simpler: just turn off AirPort in the white bar across
the top, and rejoin my home network - nary a problem since. Strange . . .

I have never in my life complained about an Apple update but this one has done something undesirable. Everything is moving slower now, like I lost half my memory or maybe downgraded the processor. Also the beach ball of death is showing up much more often.
