Did anyone notice the lack of speaker holes or a speaker tunnel? It looks as if they’re completely blocked! Am I blind!?
You’re not blind, Apple didn’t include a photo of the bottom. I’ll eat my hat if it blocks the speaker grill.

I won’t eat my hat.

Because it won’t block the speaker grill.

Is it?

The aesthetics are very subjective. The weird hump is less pronounced on the Mophies, they are made of soft touch polycarbonate and certainly don't feel cheap, they charge wirelessly aswell.

And there you have it. You just answered your own question. It’s all subjective. Whatever floats your boat. Some prefer Apple first party stuff. Some don’t.

Yes. Just to people who's phones they throttled without telling them. :)
I wonder how many of those people who were throttled, without being told, still purchase Apple products? IE purchased a new iPhone XS Max or new iPad this year...

$10 difference is overpriced? loooooooooool

Considering the word overpriced is by rule considered an opinion and not a fact as the variance of comparable items can change in the view of ones own mind, to someone yes $10 is overpriced and to another $10 is negligible.

The crazy part is I don’t even own the phone this fits, I was merely replying to ones statement of this being overpriced compared to what and I responded with its competitor link to answer their what. Good try there!

Apps don't use battery when not in the foreground, and if you have the News app set to background refresh, closing it completely does not terminate the background refresh.
I know how it's supposed to work which is why I've been at a loss to explain my observations.

Got my tracking number! Apple says delivery Thursday, will see what fedex says when it updates.

Interestingly, just got an Apple store notification that said delivery tomorrow (16th), but date within app (17th) hasn’t changed.

Impossible to say.

I think the more interesting question is how many people were fooled into upgrading because their phone had slowed down without realising that a battery replacement would've sufficed. Again hard to say..

same design and more expensive... Apple learned nothing...
Uhhhh there is only so many ways to make a battery case. Th last ones sold like hot cakes and people were waiting for these. If anything, they learned people will buy it and that is why they made a recent version. Bwahahaha your comment is so illogical to reality.

Can these still use Qi charging?
Did you bother to read?

Is there any reason this wouldn't work with the iPhone X? I know the XS has a slightly-modified camera, and so XS cases on an X leave the tiniest extra gap in the hole for the camera... But other than that, shouldn't this work with the X?

From the support link:

  • The Smart Battery Case is available for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, and iPhone 7, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. The Smart Battery Case isn't compatible with iPhone 8 or iPhone X.

Doesnt matter for people not in the market for a smart battery case, but doesnt this kinda crush the compelling reason to get an XR with its longest battery life ever?
I know a girl who can deplete her XR (and any Plus iPhones previously) battery in half a day. She’s nonstop chatting and a sosmed junkie, and this will definitely help her. Better than her tying her XR to a power bank all the time.

Apple makes iPhone thinner in order to sell a battery case of $129? Why not make iPhone thicker and increase the capacity of the built-in battery?

I had the 6/6S Apple battery case and then 7 Apple battery case, after trying Mophie cases, and the Apple cases were miles better in terms of day-to-day use (completely transparent to the user) and size. I was completely fine with hump. But because I can charge without problem throughout the day (now wireless), I won't get this (even if it worked with an iPhone X) because the added weight outweighed the few times I actually needed the extra capacity. I'd rather just carry a small battery pack with a built in Lightning connector for those few times it really matters. $129 is too much for something I might only need a few dozen times. Plus, if you put your phone in your pocket, the silicon coating started wearing almost instantly. Didn't affect function, but looked terrible. If Apple made these so that you knew you could use them for a few generations of phone, and the materials were more durable, I'd consider it. The convenience was great.

I'd be interested in seeing the bottom/bottom inside of the case. I'm assuming that there a Lightening plug on the inside to line up with the port on the phone, and a Lightening port in the battery portion of the case, which is a great way of getting rid of the chin. It would also make this case much more efficient than the Morphie case, which charges the phone wirelessly (which doesn't make any sense to me given the loss of efficiency).

$129 BWAHAHA they must be smoking crack

Im sorry, Im an Apple fan and owned every iPhone since the 3GS but they've lost touch with reality in recent years.
Yes, I believe their original prototype put it most directly:

This is really awesome to see, nice job Apple for the folks that want them.

But the battery life of this year's iPhones were better than prior years with the less expensive Xr having the longest battery life of a iPhone ever. So seems like they did a good job. They also made them easier to replace batteries (from iFixit tear down)...so much better than the Android alternatives where the more glue the better.
