Apple has publicly released the Snow Leopard Graphics Update that was seeded to developers earlier this month. The Snow Leopard Graphics Update contains stability and performance fixes for graphics applications and games, including:

- Addresses frame rate issues occurring in Portal and Team Fortress 2 by Valve, on iMac (Late 2009 and Mid 2010), Mac mini (Early 2009 and Mid 2010), Mac Pro (Early 2009), MacBook (Early 2009 and Mid 2010) and MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) or MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) models.
- Resolves an issue that could cause Aperture 3, or StarCraft II by Blizzard, to unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive.
- Resolves an image corruption issue that may occur when disconnecting and reconnecting external displays while the system is running.
The software appears to correct Snow Leopard performance issues brought to light by Valve.

Downloaded and installed. Rebooted. YAY, no more garbled image if my external display gets accidentally disconnected! Thanks, Apple! :D

Nice. I hope there is a nice improvement in my frame rate for a few games.

hmm, doesn't appear to fix the annoying GT 120 graphics issue with Expose and Spaces. I'll test it more though.

FINALLY.

I'd given up on SCII.

And several times in the last few days I've had that external display issue on my MBP.

Great news... it addresses frame rate issues for games if your Mac is less than a year old.

*grumbles* Guess I should just sell this thing and upgrade.

Edit: Performance has improved extremely well for my old Macbook Pro. Why did Apple only mention newer models in their KB document? *rolls eyes*

I'm hoping this might fix the intermittent freezing issues many 2-3 year old iMacs have been seeing since 10.6.3. I'm still running 10.6.2 because of it...

Fixes the issues I was having on my 2008 Mac Pro with frame rates.

I think I played starcraft yesterday (and got owned) but it looks like 1.0.3 was released today or yesterday. Just tried to start it and had to download the update. Lets hope for high speed gaming with plenty of iCandy
