I discovered a stupid visual bug associated with focus mode the other day that won’t be fixed in 18.x, so I may as well download this beta and see if it’s fixed here instead.

Maybe I am in the minority, but the new camera app selection slider is a PIA. It is harder to use, and has nothing to do with Liquid Glass. It is just the new way Apple thinks this is better, but it is harder to choose something without going the wrong way or completely bypassing what you want. Hopefully this is better in Beta 3.
You are definitely not alone though!

That’s unfortunate, I really liked the faster animations. iPhones are insanely powerful and the animations helped convey how fast it is.
... what a weird flex. Whom are you showing off for, exactly, with your superior app loading animation speed?
Know where performance matters to average users? Rendering time for websites in safari, or editing tasks in Photos. Actual quality of life stuff, which is where the iPhone has always shone.
Only an android user grasping at straws would fixate on something like app loading animation speed for bragging rights.

Anybody in Europe, but with a US based account, finding the update removes on device display of blood ox reading?

…for myself. I can do stuff faster on the phone because I’m less limited by animation. Phone feels faster and more powerful for me, not to brag to others 😂

New developer beta as well
I wonder if it's even worth it to put my device through the wear and tear of installing a new developer beta that didn't even get a new version number. Just a re-release of the previous developer beta.

I hope this re-release is not to hide all the code they accidentally leaked yesterday or the day before!

They released them together, so the new dev build is the same.
Very odd that the new dev release now ends with "f" and before with "c", it suppose that the closer the last letter is from "a" means the closer to a final release, so they went farther this time (again)

Didn’t think about it that way. You may be on to something.

I've been running the betas on my iPad, and every time I open mail, the toolbar UI flashes from liquid glass to a dark grey and back a few times. Happened the last couple betas including this one. Anyone else have this issue?

new animation speed is no joke. i've had them turned off on my iPhone 16 since that's where I've noticed the biggest lack of 120hz screen, but now they're very smooth.

Beta 2 jacked my CarPlay. Blank screens on all apps. Only workaround (thanks community!) was to go into Accessibility > Display & Test Size and disable Reduce Transparency - which I had enabled because Liquid Glass is a legibility nightmare. And I have great eyesight. I still can't believe it made it to a shipping product. The prior OS was my fav, visually. Liked the dark icons. Offered great contrast, depth, usability.

Still don’t have any lock screen notifications nor badge notifications for missed calls. If I miss a call because I didn’t hear the phone ring, phone just looks like no one ever tried to call.

I agree! I find it a pretty poor implementation. Your finger blocks 90% of the camera you are trying to select.
Worse - that the same slider functionality in Safari Tab view behaves the exact opposite. I actually prefer Safari's implementation as it feels more natural/intuitive than Camera's implementation. Anyway, that level of inconsistency annoys my OCD.

I hate the rounded corners animation “opening” thing that appears if you’re using Reduce Motion. Why would they create a brand new fluid MOTION effect when opening apps…even while you’ve selected Reduce Motion? Make it make sense.

I kinda agree with this more and more the longer I use it. It’s like someone took Ive’s version of iOS and made it even uglier than it was. It still is pretty much Ive’s design, just…weird.
I like the new look a lot, so it is a matter of taste. I always liked the look of the old Aqua/Windows Aero as well. Obviously, increasing transparency often leads to reduced legibility, and I understand the criticism.
