Um... thanks apple

never used thunderbolt before but if and when i do i know now that u have fixed somthing i never knew was broken and made it better some way :)

Think outside the bun, guys. I have my MBP driving the 27" LED Cinema Display over my ThunderBolt port and it's connected virtually all the time.

Other than that, I am waiting for a darn ThunderBolt NAS, as my Time Capsule and 4TB WDC NAS are filled to capacity. Well, minus 10% left empty on purpose, which leads me to the following question: Can I fill 'em up temporarily up only 2-4% left empty without causing problems performance-wise, although both really are storage solutions for files mostly...?

Is this to address that flickering/blackout problems that occur when you connect any Thunderbolt Mac to the 24" ACD?

EDIT: Nope.

Yep still seeing the same issues as before, seems almost worse actually.

This has to be one of the funniest software updates ever. :D

Apple should release 1 comedy software update a month... just for fun.

Here's some suggestions:

Tuesday Powerbook G5 Alert
Alerts the user whether Apple has released a G5 Powerbook or not every Tuesday.

Safari Snappiness Update
Addresses an issue in Safari, where the user may not feel the browser is as snappy as it might be.

Blu-ray Pain Bag Update
Displays a finely crafted on-screen icon in the shape of a bag full of 'hurt' when trying to resize an iTunes movie from 720p to 1080p
You sir, are made of win.

There's an app for that...well ok there's not, but there should be ;-) *opens Xcode*

what is even the reason to install this update if we dont own thunderbolt devices? is there a reason to install it?

doesn't work

My screen freezes at a gray color after update, wonderful. Apple, can you do ANYTHING right anymore?

You're right. It's terrible at Apple right now. Is it because Steve is getting too old and just cares about money now instead of quality?

I have the same issue with my Thunderbolt ports and can't use an external screen without loss of signal or flickering. Called Apple support, they said they knew it, but were not sure they could fix it. That's like buying bread in a bakery to find out that the bread is old and is full of fungus without being able to ask for a new one.

Final Cut Pro X. Worst joke ever. Jesus if they only care about non-professional applications, so be it, but then charging 299 $ for a crappy extremely limited program? They'll never be able to fix it, no matter how many updates, it's missing so incredibly much. I'm sticking with FCP 3 for now, but then I'll go back to Avid or Premiere.

OS X Lion: Basically an iOs but bigger?

Forgive me, but I really feel like Steve is getting demented and fell in love with his iPhone, and now wants to turn everything into his big piece of metal-love. Truly think about it. This is not thé pioneer anymore. He lost it.

Exaggerate much?

So what is the current firmware version for Thunderbolt. I am reporting 22.1. Anybody else? MBP 2011 17" 2.2.

Exaggerate much?

I really don't feel like that. It's true; pretty much every product that was released in the last two years or so needed an update here or there for an incompatibility or bug here or there (think of all the screen flickering problems, not necessarily external). And I mean for stuff that should have been working out of the box. Never had that with Apple before, except for the final 6 products that I bought from them.

And Final Cut Pro X, well if you are into video or film, it's a joke. And it's just sad to see how Apple doesn't really care about the professional market anymore. They went prosumer market.

They absolutely have the right to do so, I just think it's sad, because I liked their products and felt they were really really good. Just not anymore so. Hope they really pick back up where they left like two years ago.

did everyone get this update installed successfully?

I just got my first Mac (13" Pro) and this 93KB Thunderbolt Firmware 1.0 never installs. It always comes up as a new update, I click okay to restart and install and it doesn't install.

The computer restarts and all and I get no error message. However, the next time it checks for updates, there the same update is again.

Pretty annoying. It's even listed twice under installed software in software update! I'm guessing it's listed twice because I've tried to install it twice.

I'm still having this issue, too. even on Lion. Sorry to bump this, but does anyone have a fix?
