can apple please work on this single sign on that they promised.

Well lets see.
Siri is available on all compatible products EXCEPT the ATV in New Zealand.

So I guess if you are willing to wait for years and years, I guess it might happen.

I have bought 2 Kodi boxes since I bought the ATV4. They give me Netflix AND they don't support Siri just like the ATV only much cheaper..

Combine that with the fact I had to go and buy a cable so I could downgrade TVOS back to version 10 to make it useable again..... yeah I think my money will be staying in my wallet or at least not heading Apples way anytime soon.

Its interesting I was really looking forward to this but now it makes me realize how much content is actually not HDR. I think one more tweak to make this work better is to not have it switch every time it goes back to the menu. In Netflix especially its super annoying with the constant DR switching. It kind of makes sense seeing it work in practice why Apple initally went the route they did.

There is no new Terminator 2 release on Apple TV.

As much as I love my ATV4, the new terminator 2 release looks amazing on it.
There’s still a bug were When reduce motion is turned off, the multi-tasking menu icons in the top left are messed up.
Reduce motion turned off on this and the iPhone X are a mess.
There is no new Terminator 2 release on Apple TV. The 4K Blu-ray comes out the day after Christmas. Stop trolling!

I’m also afraid to update anymore as well. With every update, comes more bugs. After the cycle of updates are through sometime in April to July, I will cease updating all of my Apple products until 12 months later after they’ve worked out all of their quality control issues.

I used to love Apple. Unfortunately, I no longer trust them.

My ATV4 sits in the basement because you can't search for songs on your home computer like you could with ATV 1, 2, and 3. Apple only tells you about new features, not the ones they are removing. Good thing I kept my ATV 3.

Disney just released all of the Star Wars films in 4K Dolby Vision and only on Apple TV 4K. This is amazing. I’m going nuts!!!!

Yes you search for songs on your Apple TV 4K. Do you not know what you’re doing?

It was released today in the UK.
I’m actually watching it now and it looks fantastic.

That would be nice. Isn't it supposed to drop by the end of the year?
I’m running the beta of Amazon on my Apple TV 4K and have been for the last month and it’s fantastic!
[doublepost=1512417833][/doublepost]
huh? was this just announced? They aren't 4K on my system at all
All Star Wars movies are available in 4K Dolby Vision on iTunes in the US right now. Granted I am running a beta.

You’re not missing much. It’s just an aggregator of stuff you can’t watch anyway unless you subscribe to it or have it in your iTunes account.
Siri integration is much more useful to find stuff.
I’m curious about that sports section. If it only pulls from ESPN then it will be another worthless addition.
Too bad Steve Jobs is in the grave and didn’t tell us how he “cracked it”.

Yep, it's pretty useless. If we could filter out services we do not pay for, THEN, it might be helpful...

Meh, they have so little 4k content that I don't have much use for it. They need to step up their game...

But yeah, it's supposed to drop this month.

running a beta should have nothing to do with this - this wouldn't be done w/o a massive press release or some sort of fanfare, so I'm not believing you in any way. How about you stop trolling?

This is a major update for ATV 4K users with 4K TVs especially those with HDR sets. Now you can specify in the menu for the ATV to respect the DR and frame rate of the content, and let the TV do the scaling/conversion instead of the ATV. It's a small thing but a huge, necessary update so the TV isn't forced to display incorrect mismatched colors and frame rates for non-compliant content.

I didn't think that this update would do automatic match for resolution, just frame rate and PQ? So scaling will still be determined manually -- 720p/1080p if you want your TV to upscale to 4K, and 4K if you want Apple to do it.

That would be nice. Isn't it supposed to drop by the end of the year?

I was really hoping to the Amazon app launch alongside this update. With any luck it will drop tomorrow, or maybe they want a little time with the 11.2 update and their beta in the field before launching it, so next week latest?

Only if you have an Apple Music membership, and I don't. Yes, I know what I'm doing.

I can upload a picture of the 4K Dolby Vision logo on every Star Wars movie page and I can upload a video showing my oled info of Dolby Vision and 4k

Still amazing how bad the interface is. Just after the update is installed you need to go down to the next box. Swipe down, you say? No, you have to swipe right to go down with left going up.

This is being designed and maintained by idiots.

*sigh* I’ve been an ATV user for a long time, but out of all of Apple’s products it is the only one I would give a big fat NOT RECOMMENDED for anyone who asks me. The only exception would be if someone is really entrenched in the iTunes ecosystem for movies/tv. But those people likely wouldn’t be asking for a recommendation on which box to buy in the first place.

Sadly, my ATV is getting used less and less in favor of my FireTV stick (which I got for $25)

Omg the fire stick is so slow!

I agree, 8 only keep mine for iTunes movie purchases but for the price and A10 chip inside, it should be doing so much more.
There’s absolutely no reason for this not being compatible with most games on the App Store, I can’t see why the touch-pad can’t be used like a touch screen.
The ATV App Store reminds me of the Apple Watch App Store in that it’s nothing more than an after thought for most devs.
I would recommend a Xbox One S and Windows 10 machine over an ATV4 and iTunes.

The price to performance is way ahead of what Apple offers.

You're correct sorry yes, it doesn't also change resolution. This is what happens when I have little sleep :) That being said the color space and frame rate issues were big...

I agree about Amazon Prime app. Heck they haven't even updated it for iPhone X yet.
