I’ve tried to use Siri on my phone but it says sorry I couldn’t find any TVs nearby.
I’ve done all my updates , has anyone else had this issue ?

Same here. Suggesting that both devices need to be on the same WiFi network, which they are. Frustrating!

I fixed all of my AppleTV issues once and for all. I switched to Fire TV.

But the Fire TV doesn't support certain Atmos codecs I like, so I'm considering the Nvidia shield.

I’ve solved mine. You need to enable Airplay and assign a room on your AppleTV: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT208724

Enabling AirPlay 2 (which required me to hold my phone next to the ATV) got the "can't find any TVs" error to go away, but it still won't play. Worse, it just keeps trying to play on my phone now, insisting I load the "Apple TV" app, even though I'm telling it to play "in the Living Room" (the name/room of my ATV).

This doesn't seem ready for primetime yet...

Hmm, suddenly it's working! I gave the ATV one more reboot, and then cleaned up the "Rooms" inside the Home app. Saying "Play Game of Thrones on the Living Room TV" is working. The ATV is just named "Living Room", and I can drop the final "TV" from my Siri command, but she adds it in when she echos the command back to me, so I'm using it in my command to Siri and it seems pretty consistent.

Jesus I keep waiting for 3 simple things:
  • Turn off/sleep Apple TV via HomePod
  • Permanently set HomePod as audio out from Apple TV
  • Control volume via Apple Watch remote
These are no brainers and people have been asking for them since the products existed... extremely irritating. Every time a new update comes out I rush to see if any of these 3 things work and I’m disappointed every damn time.

This update breaks Beamer compatibility.
After the update, Beamer started asking for a Airplay passcode (even though this option is turned off on Apple TV). Code ID displayed On TV būt when entered into Beamer, it’s not recognised and it keeps asking for code over and over.
