Wonder if the new build will prevent me from having to re-login to Netflix EVERY ****ing TIME I LAUNCH THE APP.
Netflix app for me always requires you to click on user profile before it goes to main content interface. But never requires you to log in when launching the current app? (using a ATV4K)

i wonder if they fixed the bug introduced in 14.2 on 4th gen where you can’t specify by default homepods as audio output. works fine on 4k

or if prime video works again

3rd Generation Apple TV has been updated as well. YouTube failure crashing while pausing has been definitely solved.

“Apple TV‌‌‌ owners who have automatic software updates enabled will be upgraded to tvOS 14.3 automatically.”

If you don’t have automatic updates on, you will be prompted every available second and opportunity that the TV is not in use TO update, even if you don’t want to. FOR ALL ETERNITY!

With no way to turn it off! MUHAHAHAHA!

But seriously, you can’t stop it.

Can you?

Nope. Almost every time I launch the Netflix app from the AppleTV home screen, I'm logged out. My password isn't shared. I've tried re-installing the app. I've tried logging out and back into iCloud. I'm at a total loss.

Others have had the same. Seems there's no solution.

To people desperate for a new Apple TV: What exactly do we need new hardware for?

I just got an ATV 4K recently and it's plenty fast and responsive, plays 4K HDR content just fine and hasn't had any problems at all. I'm just wondering what we'd get out of a new ATV right now.

tvOS 14.3 has changed the behaviour of the D-pad for those using third party remotes like the Harmony.

A quick press on right or left during playback now performs a 10 second skip forward or back. A long press operates the normal seek mode. With the Harmony these actions can of course be remapped to the skip/seek buttons.

Whilst the screen saver is running, the D-pad can now be used to switch between scenes and display info about the current scene. Previously it would just exit the screen saver.

I wonder if the changes are a prelude to a new Apple remote.

Personally, I need an ATV that can play videos that are recorded on my iPhone 12 Pro in HDR (Dolby Vision) which current ATV4K is unable to because it does not support Dolby Vision profile 8 and the iPhone 12 records with Profile 8 Dolby Vision.

It plays all these videos in SDR, not even in HGL HDR which is actually the base that iPhone 12 uses AND this was clearly stated on the Apple event that we would be able to play back these videos in HDR on our Apple TV - which we still can not and that rises the question whether ATV4 is even capable of doing this task hardware wise...

I’m waiting on a new Apple TV version to be released. Many games on Apple Arcade are sluggish when on 4K output. The remote isn’t very good. It’s good supporting third party game controllers but Apple really needs a proper controller of their own. The storage of 64GB max is too limited to installed lots of games and apps. Beyond A Steel Sky is like a ~30GB download in total. I’m forever deleting apps and games to free up space. It’s very annoying. Also it would be nice if the unit output proper Atmos and HDR10+. All in all there’s a bunch of features In waiting for.

Try blocking the Apple TV from accessing these addresses (if your internet router lets you)

They've finally fixed this issue. Not sure whether it was a tvOS Update or a Netflix update, but it's fixed.
