Aaaaaand. Wish lists has now been removed. The only way you can mark a film to maybe watch later, or see when it’s for rent, is to add it to up next. How will that work as things are watched. Will they get pushed further down the up next list. We used Wish List a lot.
Considering rolling back.

It’s just one massive abortion!! Whichever sad sack of a manager passed this off needs to be fired.

You can’t roll back can you?

Luckily for me I realised I have two ATV4‘s one with the Siri Remote and the slightly older one with the old touchpad remote. I’ll be swapping them over tomorrow with the now hobbled 17.2 one being move to our bedroom.
Wish List, restored :)
That is 18 films which we had on the wish list. Adding films to the up next in 17.2 does indeed move them down the list. It’s not a wish list substitute.

Just hope Apple don’t do an app updated for the movies and tv shows apps.

It beggars belief how Apple can be so genuinely arrogant, stupid and out of touch with what their users want and need. This update, Christ that’s used in the loose sense of the word, is appalling and takes away so much functionality while adding in Apples bloatware! Seriously, whoever is in charge needs sacking!

Bonkers isn't it. I can't remember when Apply did such a cock up of a GUI change to remove actual functionality. Trying to merge everything into one area has just made it messy and confusing. Harder to find this and removes any ability to mark up and coming films/shows. I hope there's a big push back and they listen to the customers. Until then, auto updates off.

I actually don’t mind the new Apple TV app for the Apple TV, it doesn’t feel as cluttered or as confusing. Also enjoying the store layout.

The Apple TV app on the iPhone on the other hand 🤮

So the only way I could upgrade movies to 4k not purchased through Apple was to gift it to myself. Now the ability to gift is completely removed. Uhhhhnmmmmm...This stinks to say the least.

It seems this is becoming the new normal, unfortunately. I have had (non-Apple) apps, to which I pay a subscription, that also removed functionality that was present and working wonderfully. I honestly do not understand what is going on.

Back to the AppleTV, I have read very few people complimenting it - or more "being OK" with it - so I think the pushback is big. Nonetheless, please help us provide official feedback on the app to Apple -> https://www.apple.com/feedback/apple-tv-app/ It really shouldn't take long to write that you are displeased with the new app and wish you had the previous version back.

I’ve already filled in my co plaint 🤓 I’m thinking of calling them about how they can put my functioning software back on my updated ATV as they didn’t give any indication that the wish list would disappear. Removing features without clear warning is well below the belt, especially with auto updates enabled.
