Give it some time after the restart. If you do not see a specific failure message on the screen then you are still "OK" but need to keep working on it. Dead would be a message saying to contact Apple. I had to restart several times, each time it asked for my password then sat for a while. It did finally complete but unusual based on past experience.

Was stuck on the screen overnight. Since then I have probably hard reset 10 + times.

I got the stuck Apple logo circle screen and hard reset by holding both buttons for ten seconds. Then it fiished up. Apple really needs to resolve that installation process. It's scary.

I had the same thing. I noticed though that the watch was connected to the phone (BT).
So, I unpaired the watch. For whatever reason, that completed the last bit of installation and I was able to pair the watch again and restore the last backup.

Since updating to WatchOS 5 Beta 1, I'm having an issue where no information is being displayed on my Siri watch face. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes?

Yes this has struck me a couple times. I'm honestly not sure what the cause is or why it eventually goes away.

I’m having exactly the same issue. I have hard reset around 20 times and even turned it on and off via the long button. Nothing has worked.

Contacted Apple this morning and they’re sending me out a box to send in for repairs.

I had this happen. Try the following:

Turn on the watch so that it sits on the Apple logo for a minute or two, checking to see if it shows up as "connected" in your phone's Bluetooth settings (may need to connect the watch to the charger) or the Battery widget.

If it does, go to the Watch app and touch your watch at the top of the My Watch tab, then touch the "i" button, then "Unpair Apple Watch." Wait for unpairing to complete (takes longer than you expect). If your watch comes back on to the initial setup screen, follow the prompts to re-pair and then restore from backup.

If it doesn't connect to bluetooth, or unpairing doesn't work, you will indeed have to send it away.
