Ah! I hadn't realised that. Apple describe them both as features designed to help people listen to conversations in noisy rooms, but now I see the difference. Thanks. Apple description: "Live Listen can help you hear a conversation in a noisy area or even hear someone speaking across the room."Those are completely different features. Live listen is where you can leave your phone in a room and listen to the conversation in that room with your AirPods or Beats. Conversation boost is where the microphones boost the sound of a person in front of you by using the mics in the tips of the AirPods.
Have you tried any of the Beats Products? I would say the same thing you said but about Apple Airpods? I love how they look, but they fall out of my ear. I have the Beats Pro Sport with the behind/over-the-ear grip that holds them in place perfectly. My Beats hold a charge for days/weeks, and they pair almost simultaneously when the case is opened near my iPhone for the first time or even if having to pair them again later. I was in the apple store, and a guy came in and was trying to do a warranty on Airpods, and they were fake. They had a stolen serial number but looked real. I understand having preferences but giving a product a try may Change your mind.
Excellent sheathing there! Good to know Apple keeps maxing out the tech on existing products. I do wonder if Beats Fit Pro will ever get the ‘Conversation Boost’ feature . . . . or if the Airpod Pro miked stems are a requirement for that to function. Thanks for sharing your discovery and link . . . interesting information.Having recently read Marco Pfieffer's article on the AirPods Pro getting updated speech codecs, I was curious if this would be extended to the Beats Fit Pro. It looks like Apple did indeed update them to also use the better AAC-ELD voice codec in this latest firmware update. Haven't had a chance to test yet.

The naming is a right bloody mess! I don't like Air, and I don't like Pro either. What does Pro suggest? That those who use the other devices are rank amateurs? How can AirPods be Pro? What type of Pro would used the APP as opposed to the AP3s of whatever? I mean really... It is just ridiculous. The concept of a Professional iPhone is equally absurd. And why would a professional author need a Pro MacBook, for example? They can make elegant looking hardware (usually) but can't come up with a sensible naming strategy.
I posted that comment on this thread by mistake FWIW, but anyway, you are spot on with the fact it should describe the device and not the user. A suitable word for the "non-Pro" versions might be "light," suggesting fewer features (but not necessarily smaller or lighter in terms of weight). Then I would use a number to refer to the screen size as opposed to Max etc.I completely agree! They should have names like "MacBook," "MacBook Ultra," "MacBook Max," etc. I also like words like "Über," "Super," "Power," "Mega," etc. And for the lesser models, use names like "Mini," "Micro," "Basic," etc. That way, the words describe the DEVICE, not the supposed user of the device. The problem, however, would be deciding which words imply more or less power than others. Like is Super more powerful than Ultra? It seems like Max would be the most powerful than all of them since it's the MAXIMUM, but I don't really know.
As a "professional" who uses an M1 MacBook Air (but an iPhone 12 Pro, the iPad 11 inch Pro, and the Beats Fit Pro), I'm starting to wonder whether or not I bought the right computer?! Honestly, I think I should have waited for the 16 inch M1 MacBook Pro, but that's another story.
I did and I love em.I'll thinking about going to these from the AirPod Pros. The APPs simply don't stay sealed in my ears even with the slightest movements. I've got these after-market silicone "wings" that help a lot, but I have to remove them (and not lose them) to use the charger case. Grrrr.
I've experienced something similar to my BFP. I've had mornings where I've put them in to go to the gym and it starts playing .... something ... and I not only have no idea what the song is, but it's not playing from my iPhone. My iPad is off. My 2 Apple TVs are off. And I don't have music saved on my Apple Watch.Hi everyone.
Something I first noticed on my older AirPod Pro’s and now Beats Fit Pro’s yet not sure how to duplicate this.
On the latter, I recently migrated from my 12 mini to my 13 mini and starting travelling to the gym and hit the 1 button click to play music. I reckon used an existing playlist and started enjoying. I double clicked again for the next song which worked as expected.
When the song was almost finished I unlocked my 13 mini (12 mini already wiped and. I longer part of my iCloud device list says earlier) and noticed Apple Music on my 13 mini was NOT playing the songs I was listening too. I checked my Apple Watch Nike+ S6 and also no music was playing in PlayNow. No other music app was playing and the song was from a playlist I have in Apple Music saved.
I’m like what in the actual *?! Awesome but how?!
I used 12 mini nearby and transferred using the 12 mini to 13 mini days ago but my watch somehow didn’t pair over as seen in my iCloud devices.
So how is my Beats Fit Pro’s able to playback music??!!
Thank you. I honestly thought I was going crazy.I've experienced something similar to my BFP. I've had mornings where I've put them in to go to the gym and it starts playing .... something ... and I not only have no idea what the song is, but it's not playing from my iPhone. My iPad is off. My 2 Apple TVs are off. And I don't have music saved on my Apple Watch.
This doesn't happen consistently and I haven't figured out how to consistently duplicate it (or to fully prevent it from happening).
Needless to say, playing "ghost mystery music" is pretty weird.
