I hope this addresses the fact that half the time I put in my APP 2, they won't go into Adaptive mode because this has become unchecked somehow:

*Frantically points at title saying this is for FIRST generation AirPods Pro.*
*Frantically points at feature you posted that only works on SECOND generation AirPods Pro.*
Why would you expect this to have anything to do with that feature?

I took mine to Apple Store last week because of the cracking sound issue. The staff checked and said both have the issue and its hardware problem. But he said the serial number is not under the replacement program. I shouldn’t buy the newest gadgets until they find and solve any potential initial issues. I think Vision Pro will also follow the similar pattern of AirPod pro. Will wait until Vision Pro 2.

As mentioned earlier these are still being replaced in the U.K. Possibly due to consumer law.

Was this recent as one of my buds starting showing signs of static sound. I own the first generation pair and did get one of the buds replaced at the time.

According to the recall program page, it says it covers affected AirPods Pro for 3 years after the first retail sale of the unit.
U.K. law extends this to 6 years.

That requires that Apple replace them. It is a hardware failure. You should check with them to see if yours are still covered by the replacement program
I don’t know about other regions but in the U.K. responsibility lies with the retailer. So that is good news if you bought directly from Apple but if you bought from John Lewis or Currys for example then it becomes very difficult to convince the retailer to do anything.

it's amazing apple refuses to allow the firmware to control the volume on a $100 pair of earbuds. You have to jump to $189 for that feature even though a $10 pair of generic earbuds can do it and there is absolutely no technical reason why the non-pro version cannot. i'm getting sick of the software only feature rationing and the lack of customization that's been going on with apple products. we get many useless features and wallpapers, but something simple like a custom EQ in music or Bluetooth device specific EQ/mono setting eludes them. BTW, please allow 80% max charge option on everything. If you don't need it, don't use it. For others who like to create less e-waste and don't need the capacity it works wonders.

Interesting. In the US, manufacturers handle the warranty repairs. Sellers mainly handle short term returns and exchanges.

Only once though. Mine were replaced and now worse than before and they won’t swap. Spent £249 originally and they’ve lasted 15 months. Won’t ever buy another pair.
Sounds like those should still be covered by warranty in the UK at only 15 months. Is this Apple that will not do another replacement or some third-party seller? If the latter, I would reach out to Apple.

Apple replaced my AAP1 when they developed the crackle of death and they never had that problem again.

Well, hope the upgrade allows for multi-point, and of course, would like to have voice controls that DON'T require Siri and the internet. How difficult can it be for Apple to apply technology that worked just fine in 20 years ago....?
