I hop in late here.. been missing auto updates on this thread. Not kidding
Well, when prompted for an update, we seemingly need to dismiss and at the same time perhaps make sure we delete the downloaded update that is prompting to install. Would it have been preventing teaneedz’ update?
This whole behaviour of automatically downloading without the user consent, be it in the background according to the position of a toggle or by a prompt that doesn’t seem to exist is a first problem one.
The fact that when actually having an update file on your phone, it causes some kind of anxiety is another one.
The fact that deleting that very file is asking for a new first problem.
All this sums up to Apple actually forcing users to feel uncomfortable when not having the latest update, even fooling tech savvy folks like us.
No wonder they have the most updated user base out there.
This needs to be kept an eye upon!
To continue down that alley: I bought a new phone, (going from a 7 Plus to an 8 Plus - I ain’t going to buy these new full screen and no button phones as long as possibly can)
... and guess what: it forced me to update to the latest iOS, before I actually could set it up.
Do we need to accept this???
