I noticed the battery drain from that update. But in a week, it got better on its own for some reason. Updating anyhow.
It's for the sake of consistency. My Ultra is on 10.2.
Apple needs to bring back swiping between faces. The press-hold really-really sucks. 🤮
I was ready to type a reply that I'm not optimistic.. but now I am (S6 owner too)Watch S6 here. Batt was straight to zero post charging and now update has it back to running rock solid all afternoon only used 15%. So seems like a win. Also figure will all the reindexing etc post-updates, I hope for even better performance tomorrow. Don’t stop believing.
Same issue for me. Let's see what will happen after the update.Hopefully fixes the issue I've been having where the screen brightly flashes right before going into the sleep focus.
My S6 has had great battery life with watchOS 10, getting about 35-40 hours of use on a charge. The battery life issues seem very random.Watch S6 here. I don't think they would, mainly because other cheap knockoffs smartwatches use swiping gesture to change faces. I suspect they already knew this and differentiate for the sake of their "image".My Ultra is on 10.2.

The number one complaint I've heard from Apple Watch owners I know is that they accidentally change faces and don't understand why. I suspect that is the main reason for the change.I don't think they would, mainly because other cheap knockoffs smartwatches use swiping gesture to change faces. The percentage shown is all down to calibration. If it stayed at 100% for a long time before dropping, then the scale was poorly calibrated. The only true measurement of battery life is actually seeing how long it lasts on a charge. With WatchOS 10.0.2 my battery life (on my Ultra 2) was way better that it is since WatchOS 10.1 and even 10.1.1. With 10.0.2 my battery staid for a long time on 100%.
I think about 3, 3,5 days before charging. You're right! The percentage shown is all down to calibration. If it stayed at 100% for a long time before dropping, then the scale was poorly calibrated. The only true measurement of battery life is actually seeing how long it lasts on a charge.
If its actually a fix, I suspect the battery drain issue started with 10.0 but wasn't acknowledged until 10.1. Apple is a bit nervous about battery issues and also doesn't want to say they have an issue for an extended period of time either.Kinda worrying they mention it like an issue starting with 10.1 when 10.0 has been smashing my battery from early betas all through to today. Massive step down from WatchOS 9
that's true! I got the issue and i'm in 10.0If its actually a fix, I suspect the battery drain issue started with 10.0 but wasn't acknowledged until 10.1. Apple is a bit nervous about battery issues and also doesn't want to say they have an issue for an extended period of time either.
I've had a lot of issues on my S6 since I upgraded.
In this case "consistency" would be a step back. It's for the sake of consistency.
Now Apple Watch face is treated like a lock screen in iPhone. You need to press-hold to change the iPhone lock screen, thus the same in Apple Watch.
But yeah, please bring back swiping between faces.
Yeah. Never happened to me but know plenty that do. My thing is tapping on complications accidentally somehow. Hope this update fixes update fixes the screen colour bug / feature when you swipe down. The number one complaint I've heard from Apple Watch owners I know is that they accidentally change faces and don't understand why. I suspect that is the main reason for the change.
