So far today after the update, still a rapid drain on my series 4. I used to be able to go a day and a half before the Watch OS 10 update...only getting about 12 hours max now between charges. Hoping needs to "settle" in some way post-update but not confident it will get better. Sigh.

Yeah. Never happened to me but know plenty that do. My thing is tapping on complications accidentally somehow. Hope this update fixes update fixes the screen colour bug / feature when you swipe down.
I did it from time to time and just treated it like I would a random wallpaper on my Mac. What I mostly do is randomly navigate the system with my sleeve when working out.

Well WTF. I had reset my watch a few days ago and was getting better battery life (not OS 9 level but was back to making it two days before needing a charge).

This updated messed up my watch again. I’m current at 80% vs closer to 90% the previous few days for the same usage.

Hopefully this is just the typical post update temporary drain.

The number one complaint I've heard from Apple Watch owners I know is that they accidentally change faces and don't understand why. I suspect that is the main reason for the change.

So swiping left/right to change watch faces is a problem but swiping up to reveal widgets isn’t?

Well, swapping watch faces is a bigger change than bringing up widgets or notifications. Tapping the crown will take you immediately back to the clock face. That will not revert your watch face if you accidentally change it.

I didn’t have a problem with swiping to changes faces. But less technical people I know did. The kind of people who barely know how to purposely switch watch faces in the first place and freak out when “everything’s changed!” Hence my comment.

In this case "consistency" would be a step back.
Yeah I hate the new iOS wallpaper changer thing. Confuses me every time I just want to Chang my damn background and have to instead goto the Lock Screen and yadda yadda yadda... huge regression.

That’s. A stretch.

A simple swipe, on OS9, would have changed the face back. That’s no more difficult than pressing the crown.

When is Apple going to do something about effectively granting real brightness control for the Ultra 2 in night mode and day mode?
Very tough to see the 3,000 nit screen at night. In day mode the screen is also real dark in low light conditions.
The light sensor is badly in need of some effective manual control. I know many others have complained but so far not a word from Apple that I have seen.

Battery still drains fast, WTH!
Ditto. Shame. Really don't want to buy a new watch this year because my old one which was working fine gets messed up by a software update...But it really does create a hassle to have to take off the watch midday and charge or lose tracking 12 hours into the day.

Apple today released watchOS 10.1.1, a bug fix update for the watchOS 10 operating system that first came out in September. watchOS 10.1.1 comes two weeks after the launch of watchOS 10.1, an update that brought Double Tap and NameDrop support.

‌watchOS 10‌‌.1.1 can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 17 or later by opening it up and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery and it needs to be placed on a charger.

Today's update addresses an issue that is causing some Apple Watch models to drain battery more quickly than expected. Complaints about Apple Watch battery started after the launch of watchOS 10.1, and Apple confirmed in a memo over the weekend that the battery problems would be fixed in a software release.Apple is already testing watchOS 10.2, an update that is expected to be released alongside iOS 17.2 in December.

Funny thing... my battery had no problems until 10.1.1 version has been released, after which it goes down to null in a day.
And this suppose to be a fix, right? :))) Well done, Apple....!!

Time to switch to Suunto or Garmin.....
