My update keeps stalling about 2/3rds of the way through "Preparing" both with the watch on the charger and off. Rebooted phone, no joy. Will try rebooting AWU2 now... Watch updates have always been the slowest and most problematic updates in the Apple ecosystem for me. Update: As other have noted, I had to reboot both the phone and the watch to get the installation to progress, from scratch.

When swiping gesture to change watch faces is activated, the 10:10 bug is still there (face briefly shows 10:10 before transitioning to actual time). Disappointing.
You would have thought at the very least they would have addressed this issue. Each time there is an update I am always left feeling “seriously, which idiot thought this was useful”?

My Ultra 2 was stalled on “preparing” until I rebooted the watch. We’re a decade into watchOS and the update process is still so unreliable.
I went to do my 7 last night and this morning it was still on "preparing". I'll have to reboot the watch when I get home tonight.

I absolutely appreciate updates that fix things, but, what is so hard to say WHAT you fixed? I get security things that they may not want to further detail, but not “bugs”
They might not want to let you know what the bugs were before, or people can use the old software and create some social media video about it and Apple might get bad press.

I'm a software developer, and some of the bug fixes I've had in software that's been out there for 5+ years is downright embarrassing. Like if you enter your correct password in double quotes, it bypasses the locked account after 3 tries. Or if you enter February 29, 2023 as a date - (invalid) it will allow you to, tell you the record saved, and it will save, but you can never pull it up again. But whatever was in that table row will affect system counts and how the system runs in certain situations.

If Apple said what bugs were fixed these types of things could happen:

'look if I press all 3 buttons at the same time while in stopwatch mode, the Apple Watch starts getting really hot that it can burn me!'

'look where if I touch this weather app notification, hold down the cloud icon, the watch freezes and I can't get out of the app unless I reboot my watch!'

This update completely jacked up using my watch and the home app. I tried turning on my security system and it constantly went from on to off. So back that I had to turn off my watch as I had dozens and dozens of alerts. When I got home my iPad was going crazy as were most of my devices. Since I didn't want to move furniture to turn everything on and off, I just went to the fuse box and killed room my room to get the alarms to shutoff.

This probably comes too late for a lot of folks and maybe it was just me, but I would pass on this update for the watch.

With Apple making round icons for Vision OS and watch OS and possibly bringing round icons to iPad and Mac OS, doesnt it make sense now that they would make the watch itself round at some point in the near future?

What exactly is a bug fix these days? The bugs are no longer broken? New and improved bugs? Bug junkies getting their high/fix?
My series 5 has barely worked on the latest version, so hopefully it fixes all the issues im seeing. Screen shutting off randomly, not being able to tap on parts of the screen or swipe. My display goes black randomly a few times a day. I really regret upgrading to Os 10 and that was only a few weeks ago after the patches.
