The insanely slow update process caught me off guard (my fault, the previous ones should have been burned into memory). I ended up being late for work because it got stuck at "preparing update" for an hour and a half, with a message not to remove from charger. Wasn't sure if I could take my phone either, which I need during the day, so I had to wait. Very annoying process.

So far, and it may be update placebo, I think this update has smoothed a lot of the Apple Watch UI out. The home screen is more fluid and there is no longer any stutter going back and forth from the watch face. I'm actually pleased with the performance so far. Obviously doesn't help non-OS2 apps from being slow to load.

I need to check the speed of the music app while working out. I really hate the lag (at times 2 seconds between a press and any response). Seemed to get worse with the last update.

I have been so much happier with my watch since I deleted all third-party apps. Every time I tried to open one, it was a big disappointment b/c it would lag or not open at all about 75% or more of the time.

It is nice to see that Apple is working on these bugs. I'm still trying to get used to Apple's new approach of shipping a buggier/less complete product, then fixing the bugs over time. I think it's all about expectations. Maybe they should have called the Watch beta for the first year...

That's how they've been since a LONG TIME. Not sure where you think it's new, there were big bugs in early IOS versions.

Really! Updating just before going off to work? Couldn't it wait a few hours... Sheeesh!

It is forgivable since iPhones and iPads update so quickly, recent models usually can finish the .x update in 10-15 minutes.

However, the Apple Watch seems to receive the update file slowly through Bluetooth (?) from the iPhone, coupled with the painfully slow S1 chip (is it comparable to the A5 chip in the iPad 2?), the installation of the OS can take hours.

Besides don't update the Watch before going to work, a piece of advice is to complete your daily fitness goals before updating it too... coz if you start the update too late at night it may be well past 12am when it finishes, which may break your record for continuously meeting goals...!

Live and learn - it's a mistake I won't make again! I just saw the update and hit the button in my half asleep state. Thoroughly regretted the decision later.

Sadly, this did not fix the incredibly slow start up time for DarkSky. Still taking about a minute to load. And this is after the DarkSky update today as well. Oddly, the glance loads in a few seconds but the app is over 50 seconds. May just get rid of all 3rd party apps

I'm out of the USA so Dark Sky is not available. However, I'm quite happy with the Carrot app and it starts quite quickly. @MakerOfCARROT

Hey Siri dictation still lags to load, but not nearly long enough to make you want to smash the watch with a hammer like before.

I have showered and swam with it on since day one and never take it off to dry it or anything. Also lather it up and wash it nice and clean... Never had an issue.

I immediately noticed after updating, that for the first time ever on my Apple Watch, all my glances (stock & third-party) are available 'on-demand' without having to load or refresh to view information. Pretty stunning to be honest...

I have basically taken all apps off the watch for this reason (also because of limited use/functionality/not really adding anything to the experience).

As soon as the process start you can take your watch with you and the process will complete. Despite the message it only needs to initiate the install while plugged in.

I did the update now the pictures on the display are smaller, the display is no longer used completely.it's like one or 2 mm on all sides that are not used. Did anybody else noticed? It's very annoying,I'll stop by an apple store soon.

That's good to know. There were 3 stages, one where the watch was as normal but it was processing on the phone, and two stages with the apple logo and the ring showing on the phone. I figured I could leave during the last part, but as I was already late at that stage...

After the update, trying to use watch apps that control things on the corresponding iPhone results in the message "Unlock iPhone to View: The only fix seems to be to completely un-pair the watch, then re-pair. After that things work correctly.

I hope it does too. When people ask me what I think of Apple Watch I usually praise it but there is some unnecessary lag going on both in terms of software and 3rd party apps.

I have a Target app on the watch, looks like it would be a decent app. Knows the location of the store you are in.
But ehh, no its not quite working. Phone can tell me where it is, watch just gives me a spinning circle.
IDK?

Yes, I noticed, the photo watch face doesn't look as nice.
Also, the dang alarm is much louder than before! Totally scared me when it woke me up this morning.and alert volume doesn't seem to affect the alarm.
