It's strange, my Australian brought (currently i am in Hungary) Apple Watch are now has fully functioning ECG. Australia are enabled too (not mentioned in the changelog)? Or the support of the original purchase location are not required anymore?

Hmm that’s weird because my series 2 is stuck on 6.1.3 with 13.4 and working fine since last Tuesday.

My guess is that, since mine was on 5.3.4, it required the current version available.. 6.2.

Before iOS 13.4, my Watch nagged me everyday about WatchOS 6.1.3. But I just dismissed the notification, and lived on.. until today.

My iPhone showed to options..
- Unpair the watch and factory reset it
- Update.

If I left the Watch as it was, it would work, but as if it was not paired to any iPhone.. which is far from ideal.

Just want to update I let mine sit overnight. I went to update this morning via the Watch app. When I hit install, I heard a text notification sound on the watch, and I got the prompt to install the update from the watch. Then it installed, no problems at all. I think it is/was a server side issue.

Hi, Cannot see the ecg app on the watch ?

my iphone also has the latest update.

region : turkey
You install it from the health app on your iPhone.

I’ve restored my Apple Watch like 5 times and setup as new but still don’t have the ECG app showing up. The watch is updated and so is my iPhone. The ECG settings show up in the watch app on my phone but there is no app on the watch itself.
Region: NZ
Install from the health app on your iPhone.

This update has made ECG available in India on my UAE purchased watch
I purchased an Apple watch series 5 GPS+cellular in UAE in Oct 2019. ECG was not available. The app itself was missing till Watch OS 6.1.3
I live in India and my iPhone is India purchased.

Updated to Watch OS 6.2 and it asked me if i want to install ECG app, which i did and it works now. It was not working earlier. I don't know if this was intentional from Apple or a mistake.

iPhone XS purchased from authorized store in India.
Apple watch series 5 GPS+cellular purchased in authorized reseller in UAE.

definitely intentional by Apple, and Indian government - the later has to approve by their regulation for a consumer product to have ECG by medical division and legalities of the device updated for India by Apple which you’d have seen and likely ignored during the prompt to download ECG or updated WatchOS.

Anyone who updated their series 2. Is your heart rate monitor working? Mine seems borked.

No, when I came back to India in October last year after purchasing it, the ECG app never showed up and i contacted Apple and they told me that it is bound by the Point of Sale. My device model number ends with AE, which is for the Arab Emirates and since it is not approved in AE region, Apple confirmed that even though i am in a supported region with a supported local cellular network, it will not be available for me. I had even sent Tim Cook multiple mails and i got a callback from a Customer Service executive to confirm that ECG will not be available till Arab Emirates approves it.He also did not mention any timelines for this.

From what i understand, it is still not approved in AE, but they may have added a software fix in Watch OS 6.2 to handle this case.

Hmm, thats will explain what i found earlier, my Australian brought watch has ECG now, because i am in Hungary and ECG are approved in Hungary, so it's seems to me, the original location is not important anymore.
