Good to know. Why is this even an issue though? You’d figure Apple would have this figured out with beta testing.
I am guessing with the series 3 limited in space and 32 bit, the install is a little more tedious than the newer models. My series 3 is good right now while waiting on my series 6. I sold my series 5 last weekend. I miss the better screens. The series 3 still has great battery life. I am happy about that.

Finally, after a couple restarts of my AW3, the free space on my watch was 3.2GB . I did not have to delete a single thing.

The 2nd attempt to update took forever (even with BT off), but after a very long period of "Preparing", it finally did it.

So if anyone has the "not enough space" error, try force restarting your watch a couple times.

I did order an AW6 this morning, as I feel this AW3 is soon going to not be able to update.

After a long install process, I'm actually surprised about the number of little tweaks in the new OS.

Transition animations are much faster, former force touch options are now visible within the apps, switching cards in wallet is more obvious and the changing complications interface is a nice change (if a little confusing at first).

New watch faces are a bit meh for me, for most faces on the watch I wish there were more complication slots, or numbers on the watch hands! I also don't understand why many faces have monochrome complications.

A great update from my perspective!

Hand washing help isn’t working on my series 4. It’s enabled on the settings tab...

Same here. I have a Series 4, I've washed my hands several times, and I've yet to see it launch. The thing is, you can't send feedback unless you have the Feedback app, and you can't have the Feedback app without the beta profiles installed.

The new hand washing feature is interesting. I was just rinsing some dishes and it turned on. I had to cancel. I was starting to put water in the dog bowls and it activated.

I figured it might do that. I take awhile to do dishes, and I can see it running over, and over, and over...

The monochrome complications remind me of the iOS update a few years back (iOS 10 maybe?) where the icons went to from 3D style to 2D. Lame.

The watchOS 7 update is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4, Series 4, and Series 5 models. It cannot be installed on the first-generation Apple Watch, the Series 1, or the Series 2 Apple Watch models.

Did you mean "The ‌watchOS 7‌ update is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 3, Series 4, and Series 5 models."?

never beta tested watchos 7. updated with no problem on S5, and i was caught off guard with how fast the animations are. didn’t realize how much this was a welcome addition. i love it

Can someone explain the purpose of the "Count up" watch face? After working out how to actually use it, I don't understand it's purpose. It's a stopwatch that you can start on something other than zero, do people need that?

I was lucky in Australia, downloaded in my sleep then took off the watch to take a shower, wOS7 by the time I was out.

I love the tweak to the solar dial WF, the sunset colour is moodier and more vibrant, love it!

On why series 3, the settings app is lagging massively. If I go to settings / general it takes a number of taps to go back.

Anyone else seeing the same issue?

Same issue. From some random reddit threads I saw, seems like the only way to get it to work is erase, restore as new watch, update, erase again, and restore from backup, which is RIDICULOUS!

I tried the update from the phone, same problem, then I tried from the watch (through Settings>General>Software Update) and it worked, no reset/unpaid/weirdness needed!

Just checked my AW3, and the Settings app is very responsive and smooth. Choosing General, and tapping back works perfect.

My girlfriends watch is stuck on preparing. Tried a reboot of watch and downloading again. However it is stil stuck and does not seem to budge.

Already had to clean install as there was not enough space even after deleting everything! 😡

The screen is staying on in nightstand mode now. Is there a way to lower the brightness during nightstand though? It's at full tilt bright white.

I did a restart and I think that may have worked. It's still downloading (I didn't read the post to disable BT until I had already started the update) to the watch, but it's been running much longer than it did prior when I got the free space error.

UPDATE: it counted down all the way and the iPhone showed an error that it could not verify the update because it wasn't connected to the internet. BS. It's on WIFI and CELLULAR. This is a PITA...

The same thing is happening to me... Very frustrating. While downloading it a second time, it came up a few times stating the download was paused until I connected to Wifi. I am sitting in my house working at home... I have wifi... After babysitting it for over an hour and watching it 'process' the update, it failed again stating it could not verify as I wasn't connected to wifi. I'm on my third try now with turning BT off. I contacted Apple about the issue. Their only suggestion was to try wiping the watch and then updating...
