Apple will today release iOS 12.1.3, the fifth update to the iOS 12 operating system since its September launch. iOS 12.1.3 is a minor update that follows iOS 12.1.2 (iPhone only), released back in December, and iOS 12.1.1, also released in December.

The iOS 12.1.3 update will be available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update. As with all iOS updates, iOS 12.1.3 will be free to download. iPhone owners will be upgrading to iOS 12.1.3 from iOS 12.1.2, while iPad owners will be updating from iOS 12.1.1.

iOS 12.1.3 is a minor update, and during the beta testing period, we found no major new features. According to Apple's release notes, iOS 12.1.3 includes fixes for multiple bugs affecting iPad Pro, HomePod, CarPlay, and more.

On HomePod, the update fixes bugs that could cause restarts or that could cause Siri to stop listening. On the iPad Pro, iOS 12.1.3 fixes an issue that could cause audio distortion when using external input devices, and for CarPlay, issues that could cause disconnects from the 2019 iPhones have been addressed. Apple's full release notes: The prior update, iOS 12.1.2, included a fix for eSIM activation issues and tweaked some iPhone functionality in China to remove features that infringed on Qualcomm patents so Apple could bypass a sales ban on older iPhones.

Build 16D39 and 16D40, according to the Apple developer page.

no WiFi issues fix?

Since iOS 12.1.1, it's very noticeable how WiFi is not consistent. I've made speedtests and gotten 20mb on my iPhone X and then 100mb on older iPhone 6 with iOS (earlier). Multiple tests, in many different days, same results. When you "forget network" on iPhone X (iOS 12.1.2), it fixes the problem temporarlily.

Argh!

interesting. Just ran into that Siri bug on my downstairs hoempod last night. was yelling at her to turn the lights off and she was ignoring me.

Hope it fixes my random phone freezes. It has not happened a lot but it does occur. Just updated now time to test.

I wonder why sometimes they are that specific for minor bugs. I was under the impression that most of the time, these updates fix much more of those bugs (hence multiple Mbs of update), but I'm not sure anymore...

When making fun of a typo, try to not make your own grammatical mistake. ;)

Good catch at my own typo, I see you now have fixed your own after being called on it.
However wasn't really making fun. It was a question? Nice try though.
Also thanks for the heads up. Have a good one.

Corrected.

No worries, I was just playing. Nice try though? Asking if they were predicting the future wasn't making fun but a real question?

I feel like Apple doesn’t really test their updates. Within 2 minutes I’ve discovered that the Messages photos bug is NOT fixed on my iPad Pro 11” when using the Messages app in SlideOver form. It works in Split Screen or regular full-size app, though.

Oy.

- Fixes an issue in Messages that could impact scrolling through photos in the Details view
THANK YOU. This has been driving me crazy.

Ha, was going to post the same thing. Don't know how this went un-noticed in QA.

Edit: still not fixed, while it doesn't take you back to the top like it did before, images aren't loading properly.Typical Apple QA. SMH

High Sierra, iTunes 10.6.5.3 (the good old one), and a 10.5" iPad. Installed through iTunes and everything seems fine. After the update iTunes thought it and the iPad were still syncing, so it asked me if I really wanted to quit. They were not as far as I could see. Doing a manual sync in iTunes took care of it.

Right?! So ridiculous and sadly I don't think this will fix whatever happened to my photos in Details view, it wiped most of them out but they still show up to tap on, they just never load and say 0kb.

Been seeing this on multiple iPhones since 12 as well. Pictures sent in iMessage and then they're never downloaded on the receiver phone - just landing stub for the photo (so they know they should have gotten something). Doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to it.
