In Italy we say "è come chiedere all'oste se il vino è buono" (which translates to "that's like asking the innkeeper if the wine is good"). They're the innkeeper, of course they would think they deserve a cut, and possibly even a bigger one if they could get away with it.
On the flip side there is no one holding a gun to anyone’s head to either be a customer or be a dev. Isn’t that the beauty of competition?

iOS 17.4 might as well be named "Emoji" release.

Starting with iOS 15.4, Apple always targets .4 release for new emojis.
I can't live without new emoji... Seriously who the heck cares except kids in the kindergarten (and grown up kids)?

That's not what we were discussing and you've moved the goalposts once again, but sure.
Moving the goalposts? It’s more like whack-a-mole. What exactly is being discussed?
- that some think the DMA laws are just bad
- that apple is flirting with big fines
- that Phil Schiller thinks this is a disaster?
- that apple doesn’t deserve any fees from side loaded or alternative app stores?
- that some think the EU don’t go far enough
- that alternative app stores have to produce better apps than the iOS app store
- that apple is a monopoly and the iOS store stifles innovation?

All this in a thread about iOS 17.4.

Well apple said otherwise, so I assume what apple said is happening - otherwise they wouldn’t have said it.
Apple says many things, some of which conflict with other things they say, and others conflict with the law.
