So yeah the long list view is easier when looking for an app than the horizontal view, but is there not a list view button to switch from the default horizontal list? I've yet to update to iOS 6, so I'm not certain.
If I see this I am SO glad the Dropbox guys refused the Apple takeover.
Dropbox is still owning iCloud on every single aspect (integration, ease-of-use and functionality), imagine what a waste of an excelent service it would have been if Apple got it: they would have used the tech to make iCloud more quickly than they did now, but iCloud would still have been the closed blob lacking fucntionality it is today.
"I get info on the apps I search for?"i prefer the new interface. I get info on the apps I search for.
I like the new design better, personally. I think it is much more useful to have an actual screenshot of the app to see without any additional taps. I did not like having to scroll through a big long list of app titles with only a tiny icon to give me an idea of what the app did before I tapped on it. Before I'd have to tap on every result to have any idea of what it was like, which is terribly tedious.
I do think that having a list view of the search results would be good to still have as an option, however.
*Shrug* I like using both. They each hold a distinct and useful purpose for me across all of my Apple devices.
But I know what you are saying, the takeover would mean no dropbox as it is today.
To me, iCloud is transparent. It just works. Used Dropbox for a while to sync stuff. After the installation, account creation, initial sync, dealing with moany errors and "upgrade to premium" nags, I'm happy with iCloud doing it all for me.
If anything, it would have been a continuation of the iDisk (which I sorely miss).
Howso? They bought Chomp and integrated it into their own store design. Don't let that get in the way of your caterwauling though.
They must assume people only use search to pull up a specific app. For example, I search for general terms like "twitter" or "movie showtimes" so I can browse a bunch of apps to compare and see if any of them look good.
dropbox works like a charm across the board.
if they add file modification (office docs) on iOS, I'd dare say it's one step behind of being the real rocknrolla in the cloud storage business
