MacRukors behaves like Tabloid magazine.

It is amazing how many quickly scrutinize or even praise Apple on this non-news. It is even more amazing how MacRumors neglected the fact that Apple merely clarified the function of the search button by naming it "Search" instead of Yahoo! Or Google. If this is a stab at Google, then Apple would have left Yahoo! button in the keyboard.

The even sadder part is that this non-news was picked up by other well known sites and making it an Apple-vs-Google issue.

Macrumors need to make corrections regarding this poorly written attempt at investigative journalism. This is more like instigating pseudo-journalism.

Not Bing!

I have Bing many times before, and I hate it. Google is so much better, and because of the way that the Bing search engine is laid out, I don't think that it would be very easy to see on something as small as an iPhone.

I'm betting that this means they're going to allow you to choose your search engine actually, think about it, if the button says "Google" that wouldn't really work if you were using "Bing" now would it? I seriously doubt they would say you can't use Google anymore... Plus, you can always get to google through safari, even if the built-in safari search doesn't have it, it would just be a hinderance, no real point.

Just wait until Google pulls its support for Maps on iPhone. We'll see how much Apple is laughing when the only map solution is an expensive, third-party app.

I doubt Google is going to want to leave THAT much money on the table. Lots of money to lose from what I have read. Of course they are just rumors on the dollar figure but none the less. If it is even remotely close, don't think google wants to loose that.

You can already choose between Google and Yahoo. When you do it just swaps the button to read Yahoo in 3.1.3:

This is a good thing. Keep it generic and let people decide what to use. Why should Google get preference?

Shift key is slightly darker.

(yes, I tend to pay way more attention to the details than they deserve)

Good. It would be nice for Microsoft to get back in the thick of things. Google is getting a bit out of hand in trying to corner the ad market everywhere while disguised as an Open Source saint.

Nobody is winning of Apples behavior towards Google..
We, Apple and Google are taking major L's, imagine if Google stopped releasing updates on Google maps, no updated Gmail accounts when the time comes.
And also since HTML5 writer is from Google, imagine if they stop caring about priority for iPhone and iPad?.. I mean Google is too powerful to be played with today. They've already according to Forbes got a much higher market value.

Google has ads. Ads come and go. As for maps they are hardly the only map provider on earth. People are making it seem as though noone knew how to read a map or search for something before Google came along. Their gmail service is just another means to direct people to ads.

people should think back to Netscape and what happened to them when Microsoft did them in. It wouldn't be that easy with Google, but they are hardly in a position to battle it out with hardware and OS providers. Maybe they can restrict themselves to Linux and see where that gets them.

Fake

Its a fake all of the conjecture that has been previously posted about Bing Google and Yahoo is true. However unless apple completely changed the way the OS works when the phone is in airplane mode all search options weather they be Google or Yahoo or any newly rumored engines, the search button greys and is disabled.

I really doubt this has anything to do with the recent "disagreements" between Apple and Google and has more to do with aesthetics and design. I mean it still uses Google for its primary search.

Well said, it always looked wrong to have google rather than Search any way, I am glad apple finally has done something about it. Its not like once you press the search button you can't tell its google, but the question is why can't we have all 3 and let people figure out which one they want, why do they have to blow steve to get on safari.
