Yea, it's thin enough. Even too thin for some people. It needs more battery, less thin.

I totally agree. Tons of people complain about the battery capacity of their cell phones - no matter what brand they prefer. Yet, thickness is a point in every review, scaring every manufacturer from making a phone that is thicker than their previous comparable model.

For those with cell phones that have detachable rear covers there are lots of good options out there (usually a combination of battery and a new back cover to accomodate for the fatter battery) that significantly increase battery capacity if you are willing to let your device be 3-4mm thicker.

Apple Reportedly Delaying Launch of 5.5-Inch 'iPhone Air' Due to Battery Issues

LESS THAN ?!? Are you serious ?

I would be happy if they will announce a smartphone AND a phablet, to cover all the needs, but if they would release only a phablet I'd be very disappointed.

A phablet ISNT a smartphone. It Is an huge device and not all the people want to carry a pan around all the time.

I'd like to have something slightly bigger than 4" , sure, but 4.7" is more than enough.

I'm considering the idea to buy a phablet as my secondary phone, but there are moments when I need something that is really portable.

Well Max, once you're already accustomed to using a phablet as a daily driver, it's hard to envision going backwards. Every year I cave into Apple and swear it's the last iPhone I buy with a middling screen. Yet I continue to support them hoping they will finally give us what we ask for and I don't believe that's asking for much

You say 4"7 is adequate. I say phooey. A note size slate is probably as equivalent to me as is an S5 may be to you. As just per usage, my entire job is on the go which eliminates having to carry extra baggage i.e. Laptop, tablet, portfolio etc. My Note does everything I need.

I can't imagine being content with a mere .7 inch increase for another 2 years while Apple is still trying to figure things out. If not now, then when?

Well, everyone has his needs and tastes, but to expect Apple to launch only a 5.5" device is unrealistic if you know their philosophy.
I would be very happy if they indeed will launch two size devices in the next six months, so they could please both of us (considering us as a typical customer).

A 0.7" increase over a 4" display is percentage wise a big increment, bigger than the previous iteration 3.5" -> 4"

My mistake... You must not be very bright then. To have been around as long as you have and not figured it out yet.

Since sarcasm offends you, rest assured there was none in this post.

Sarcasm doesn't offend me; laziness does, which your post was just to get a superficial jab on an anonymous person.

And there you did it again. Irony is you seem to be the one to have not figured it out.

I would rather it just have a bigger battery. I don't really want to carry a extra battery around and the big down side (for me) to the rear covers that allow a bigger battery is that the phone won't fit in standard cases like an Otter Box. That's a deal breaker for me.

My "jab" was targeted towards Apple, not you. You were simply the catalyst. Like I said, not to bright, which caused diarrhea of the mouth on your end. Go take some continuing education classes (this shouldn't be a problem unless you're lazy) and some anger management while you're at it.

Ah geez, again with the ad hominem attack -- that is truly the mark of unintelligence and immaturity.

Look, you responded to me and said "you must be new here." Maybe I'm dim witted, but when I was in school I learned that when someone responds to me and says "you" they are talking about me, not a 3rd party, be it a company or individual. So don't give me this B.S. the jab was targeting Apple.

But if it was then I think you need to look at your writing and communication skill. If you were trying to be playfully sarcastic, you missed the mark because of your intro which was bombastic. What you should have written if that was your intention was something like "O C'mon, you've been around here long enough Apple's only cares about a device's thinness." See how that is "lighter" than "you must be new here" (newbie doesn't really understand what's going on).

You must also not read past the first sentence.

I find it funny how worked up you've gotten over a non-attack that wasn't even about you. I do not apologize over how I worded my post. I'm used to dealing with people who know better. In other words, how you felt about it is your problem.

Look it was only "my problem" because you directly addressed me vs. you just posting a generic comment based on my post, addressing no one in particular. That is how the english language works. Anyway have a great weekend.

I agree - it wouldn't have bothered me at all if any of the phones that I have had the last 5-6 years was a few millimetres thicker in 'stock' version if I got a better battery capacity.
