Guys Is this what apple pay looks like ?? It showed up on my wallet app suddenly.

That’s the Apple Cash card, part of Apple Cash, a service for sending and receiving money via imessages. Currently only available in the USA, but it has shown up in people’s wallet in other countries from time to time due to software errors.

Goldman Sachs does operate in Australia (as indicated by your link). While they don’t currently offer a credit card in Australia, they could offer their current brand without Apple if they so desired.
I'll respectfully say it again. It doesn't matter whether Goldman operates in AU, NZ, KE, or any other country.

They would either 1) need to start a bank, or 2) slap their brand on another bank's charter, which would THEN integrate with the whole Apple Card bank-end tech ecosystem (otherwise it's "just another credit card" as I've argued it's fast-becoming w/o all the other MC World Elite benefits, or ANYTHING making me feel special beyond "2% cash").
Note that Apple has only done Goldman at this depth - although maybe you can argue the installment plan and upgrade program, run by Citizens Bank, and previously barclaycard, and Apple Cash, which is Green Dot...

Finally... "Goldman Sachs" is primarily an investment bank (obviously).
It has wholesale, commercial, etc. - but the Marcus unit (which is actually Goldman Sachs Bank USA), comes under the oversight of the USA's OCC. It is similar to what American Express did, and also, oddly, organizations like Volkswagen Bank USA, tried and failed, and closed in 2007 (retail banking is a tough business).

But in summary... Goldman might be irrelevant here, even if I've made a stink about it.
India will be a different financial org. Australia would likely be ANZ or Westpac or NAB or whatever.

Goldman Consumer Bank:

Chase Savings and Chase Premiere Savings account rates are .01% and .02% ....
In addition, these accounts have $5 monthly (without a $300 daily balance or $25 monthly automatic deposit) for the standard and $25 monthly deposit (without a $15,000 daily balance or a linked Chase Premiere or Sapphire checking account).

They now have transaction banking services in the EU, U.S. and U.K., and are expanding to Japan. This is mostly geared to commercial clients, but might support allowing them to offer credit cards.
I would bet that Apple partners with other FI's to service the cards in AU, IN, DE, etc.

Again, Goldman losing a ton of cash on Marcus. And the US is the best market for idiots running up large CC debt. It only gets worse in other countries.

That might be what it is in the US, but we're talking about the UK Chase saver account, as intimated in my post.
I just reread your post and I do not see any reference to the U.K. in it. I do see that they use different terms than we do for the interest rate (AER and gross vs. APR), but I only noticed that because I was looking for something to indicate that it was about a U.K. account.

That may be true, I have no opinion as to whether Apple will even offer the Apple Card outside the U.S. (I have my doubts that Australia’s 25 million people are enough to warrant serving the market, but I guess we will see). My post was simply in response to your statement that Goldman Sachs had slowed their international expansion.

So Goldman RETAIL BANK is expanding globally?
Where can you find this? other than "Marcus by Goldman Sachs is currently offered in the US and the UK."

Investor Day (Platforms): About Marcus: Marcus media site:
* Goldman offices [do not equal] retail banking/lending. These are their INVESTMENT bank locations: https://www.goldmansachs.com/our-firm/locations.html

Your quote talked about transaction banking services. I responded to that. Here is their post talking about expanding transaction banking services into the EU, and an article about their expansion into Japan. No where did you mention Marcus in your post, nor did claim they were offering that product. However, from my understanding, their transaction services requires that they have a bank charter in those countries where they operate.

Welln

What exactly does that have to do with my post? I have never claimed that Apple will expand their Apple Card outside the U.S. nor that Goldman Sachs would be the one to do it. It is interesting, however, that they did this just at the point that they extended their contract through the end of the decade. Seems like an odd decision.

Well, it follows on from a previous post that specifically mentions Chase now being available in the UK.
