This man is not lost. He is obviously doing a precautionary sweep of the immediate environment.

Maybe there is more of a market for credit in India, a lot of people may not have access to good credit and it is an opportunity to address the well-off segment of Indian society. It’s an interesting move, for sure.

I doubt it. India is a very cash-based country. That’s why it was one of the only two countries in the world (the other being Mexico) where Uber had to bend and start accepting cash as a form of payment for rides and food.

We will be the last to get it.

No you won’t be. You’re usually among the first to get everything from Apple, along with Canada and Uk. The last regions of the world to get everything from apple are usually Latin America, Africa and southern Asia.

I got a massive survey from Apple/Goldman today.
I slammed them everywhere I could. The Card is a charade.

I have the apple card and it has worked decently. It may not be the best one out there, especially when it comes to the rewards, but calling it a charade may be too harsh.

How is it a charade? It is a simple cash back card that delivers exactly what it promised. Every day I get 2% of my purchases back (3% for Ace Hardware, Apple, Starbucks, Uber and Walgreens). I do not have to do anything to claim the money, it is deposited right into my Apple savings account.

Very happy to hear apple card and apple pay coming to India . I dont know why people hate that its coming atleast you guys have apple pay . In india it does not have that so we need that too

Not only that, Apple Card hasn’t been launched anywhere outside the US. Apple would be extremely unlikely to start the international rollout anywhere other than Canada, UK, Europe and Australia. Those four regions have always been the first outside the US to get every single new apple product and/or service.
This is because these mentioned regions have high use of iphones. The other regions have high use of Samsung phones.

The use of mobile phone payment through QR code called UPI is popular in India. Cash payment is started to decrease in India because of UPI.

UPI was released in 2016.

This is because Latin America, Africa, and South Asia use Android phones a lot. iPhones are very expensive in these areas.

how much does Apple/Goldman spend on benefits, versus how much goes back to them?
It is *supposed to be a Mastercard World Elite - it is coded as such (people have taken screenshots), and merchants pay fees as if it's a W.E. - but we're not getting the actual benefits.

Now compare this with Chase Sapphire Reserve, AMEX Platinum, etc.

Then, why has Apple/Goldman held at 4.15% on the related/linked savings account, when others have increased rates as much as 50 basis points (and Savings was specifically asked in the survey)?

This might be bleeding money for Goldman/Marcus, but I'm not seeing any benefits on my end. 1, 2, 3, 6% cash back - whatever.

Wells Fargo card is the same thing, without all of the Apple nonsense.
There are others from CapOne, etc.

And when I had a problem with my Apple Card, dealing with Goldman was a nightmare.
Business Chat didn't work for s-hht. Nor did the offshore people.

It's just a normal saver account, opened through the app.

Chase, Wells, and BofA (and soon other "superbanks") have a very weird and difficult to navigate set of accounts with varying interest rates.

One of my daughter's accounts gets 4% with Wells, yet another one of her nearly-identical (savings not checking nor money market, as if) gets 0.3% and our family Private Bank account gets like 0.7% - *WITH the relationship bump. It makes no sense.

Same issue with Chase I hear...

No, Wells Fargo is only 2% (Apple Card is 3% on my largest purchases - Apple Devices and services), and unless I redeem it to pay my card, the minimum redemption is $25. My Apple Daily Cash is deposited into my Apple Savings account every day, with no effort on my part and no need to do anything.
There are others from CapOne, etc.
Which Capital One offers 2% cash back? Which offers 3%? Which offers interest free purchases on Apple gear?
And when I had a problem with my Apple Card, dealing with Goldman was a nightmare.
Business Chat didn't work for s-hht. Nor did the offshore people.
My experience was the exact opposite.

Note: Starbucks actually isn’t a 3% cashback merchant, just 2% like the rest.

No one hates the idea, that’s cool of it does end up happening. We’re just surprised apple card would arrive to India before UK or Australia. It just wouldn’t be Apple’s standard behavior.
