The longer you wait the better off you are. I think I'm just going to wait until my i9 iMac melts into a puddle on my desk. ...and then just get another one.Honestly with the M4 and M5 being so close in time, I’m no longer sure what to wait for, because the M4 will use a similar node, while the M5 will use the new node at 2nm using a new transistor architecture (GAAFET). Maybe it’s worth waiting until the second half of 2025.
You’re overthinking things; buy a computer when you need/want a computer. If you can wait a year until mid 2025, then you didn’t need a new computer now.Honestly with the M4 and M5 being so close in time, I’m no longer sure what to wait for, because the M4 will use a similar node, while the M5 will use the new node at 2nm using a new transistor architecture (GAAFET). And they will start work on the M5 MacBooks when the M4 MacBooks are released.Damn feeling m3 is dated only after a week now lol
TSMC's 2nm node doesn't go into mass production until 2H of 2025. I wouldn't expect any processor using that node until 2026.It seems like Apple should wait for the 2nm process before releasing the M4
One for each wheel I guess.the vehicle's chip would have been equivalent to four M2 Ultra chips combined

Yep. Story of my -tech- life. Can't wait for the MX chip. lol.
Agree, I’m overthinking a bit, and also yes, I think I can wait until mid 2025 but in order to do some non-essential tasks (mostly hobbies) I could really use an M2, M2 Pro or M3 Mac. But I’ll try to wait as long as I can, not only for the power, but also -and most importantly- for longevity and macOS support. You’re overthinking things; buy a computer when you need/want a computer. Always 8 GB of RAM with a $200 upsell.Wow that's a powerful car. How many external displays would the it have supported? And is that with 8 or 16 GB of ram?
Pro level spec8 gigz a ram on the base

I would think they'd take what they learned from whatever R&D they did and maybe partner with an existing EV manufacturer. Though with GM ditching 3rd party and going with their own in house the value prop from Apple may not be enough to entice. But who knows.I wonder if they would be able to sell any of the AppleCar tech to other companies. I personally always thought we would find out that it wouldn't be a standalone car company but rather a model manufactured by another company like BMW.
