Just because Apple is successful, that doesn’t mean there isn’t competition. There’s lots of tech companies out there offering modern smartphones. But there’s a reason people keep buying from the same few companies, people just like them.

Apple will be divided into 2 companies.
Period.

The first company "App Inc" will focus on iOS, handheld devices and emojis. Headquarters will remain in Ireland.

The second company, called "le Inc" a.k.a "Logic Engineering Inc" will focus on serious computing, Mac OS and professional products. Headquarters will be in France, hence the name "Le Inc" like "Le Monde" or "Le préservatif"... it will be a very frenchesque company with lots of cafes inside the headquarters, where you can have a coffee and smoke at the same time or have frog soup for lunch ...

Oh, and Sorry, Cupertino will close. That building will be bought by Stanford, so they can build a particle collider in there.
I’d say, that Apple devices and Apple Services are going to be the two companies. And therefore Apple Devices would have to charge the same 30% from Apple Services products.

And Bertrand Serlet would be the CEO, talking about DLL hell and how Redmond better start their photocopiers for Vista 2.0

The US innovates, China duplicates and the EU regulates.

Haha..lol
Without Arm there wouldn't be Apple Silicon nor iPhones, iPads, newer routers, newer Settopboxes and so on.
Without NXP there wouldn't be NFC.
Without ASML Moores law would have stopped.
There wouldn't be Cassette players/CD/DVD without philips
Plenty of examples more....

IF you have any other examples outside Airbus, then speak up. The case Airbus is controversial, since Boeing receives a lot of government support in the name of military research / aid. Both parties have been tried and found quilty breaking a trade agreement / international trade law.

They don't even pretend anymore. "Hit list"? Just call these "governments" what they really are -- gangsters who want their cut.

STEVE JOBS created iPhone and Apple reaps the rewards. If the EU doesn't like that then they should encourage innovation in their own borders instead of raising taxes and going after successful people and companies.

apple,is publicly traded and not us property.
This lack of understanding international trade law is arduously

Thinking about it... Apple just making hardware, the operating system and cloud services (including a store) could be a thing.
No own maps content (WHY, APPLE, just buy the google content)
No Apple TV shows (WHY, APPLE, just buy good content, do not think you can make it)
No rebranded Beats headphones
No "smart" speaker is not so smart.

They cant. Arrogant politicians just dreaming. Wars can be started for intrusions slightly more significant that these pipe dreams.

apple has an hq in Ireland - break up is not the exact term, they can be forced to,separate business like banks are forced to separate investment banking from traditional business.

The government getting involved. What could possibly go wrong? I have yet to see a compelling reason to allow regulations. In my own view, this is the governments way of getting in and corrupting these massive companies. They see the reach and influence they have and they want a piece of that power, its just hidden behind virtue.

haha, I don’t love Europe but USA is great in subsidizing failed businesses. Haha General Motors biggest failed car company in the world. Boing heavily feeded With military money.

europe ‘steals’ people’s money to decide where it’s invested. That’s how it works here, it’s the system of investment here, to argue against that makes no sense. People here love it, because they consider themselves as stupid and kinda hate themselves so big government makes all decisions for them.

EU just enforces market economy and EU is a heavily biased in liberal/conservative ideologies and agendas so do not think EU is left winged.

Capitalism without competition ends really badly for consumer. I surprised that so many, presumably from US and UK, does not believe in market economy principles. What we see with these companies is a capitalism with essentially very little competition as all of them uses vendor lock-ins and other dirty tricks.

One really good win for the consumer thanks to EU is the price for roaming. It was ridiculously high until EU said "Now or we fine you til you bleed". I hope they could do the same to the bank sector. Guess roaming will be expensive again in UK...

Paying next to nothing in tax does not help their case either, does it? Essentially, these companies provides so little to the state budgets that quarrelling with them cost very little in terms of revenue.

With your logic the governments should be disbanded as they stand in the way of progression. Can you really envision a country run entirely by companies? USCongress Inc, USHighcourt Inc...

I assume you're not a shareholder
Yes I am and that has nothing to do with it. Apple will be fine without them. Would they take a hit yes, but so would every company that gave the EU the middle finger and stopped selling to them. EU would beg them to come back. Imagine no Apple, Amazon, Google or Microsoft.

Good. Big tech needs to be put under control.

Waiting for the brainwashed Americans to come defend their favorite multi-trillion dollar corporation while they fear getting sick so they don't get left with crippling debt.
Well the multi trillion dollar company has made quite a few European very wealthy and created Billions Paid out to developers who bothered to learn a new skill and make apps. It the lazy do nothings that refuse to use their minds. I hope Apple decided it’s time to distance themselves from such markets and focus on those that appreciate what they bring to the world.

I was being somewhat hyperbolic, I thought that was obvious. My point is not that we don't need governments, it is that more government isn't the answer for everything.
