From day 1 of owning my iPad1 I posted on here that I felt the bezel was too wide and ugly and I wanted them to make the bezel narrower.

Almost every single person said I was wrong, Apple was right.

Apple are now, probably going to make the bezel narrow as I wanted and have wanted since a few years ago and have always said.

Am I still wrong and now Apple are wrong with me also?

after trying out the HTC One, I keep wondering why Apple never incorporated a front facing speaker? makes video watching that much more fun as you don't have to turn up the volume so high, and no need to cup your hand over the edge of the device. wonder when this will come to the iDevice?

Most people I see with the htc one, 100% of the time are using headphones.

Thanks for bringing that up. It is why rumors have become sooooo overdone, and are a waste of time reading them over and over to get 'hyped' with anticipation. Until there is an actual 'official' announcement, or release, I generally just skim over the headlines in my news portals, the majority of times, unless something is particularly interesting. This is in the interest of conserving valuable time resources and productivity efficiency. I just move on to real news. Oh, and on the rumors, there seems to be a pattern of which sites release something first, and then a plethora of other sites grabe that, rephrase the titles and regurgitate the same new (er, rumor) in a somewhat restated text. :apple:

I'm concerned about the idea of an even smaller bezel on the mini. It's hard enough as it is to comfortably hold the mini in portrait orientation.

You and everyone else who has used a mini. Dont worry - Im pretty sure this is bogus - a lot of pain for what gain?

Reducing the width of the mini would be a smart move by Apple. My mini is very cumbersome to hold as compared to the ease and comfort of my Nexus 7. Unlike my iPad 4 which works well in a case / stand combo, the mini doesn't suit that kind of use as well. I greatly prefer to hold it in hand, especially when writing messages and such. It'd only take a 15mm narrowing to make it much better.

How about making a magnetic hand grip attacher which grips the back of the iPad when reading which will make your hand getting in the way of the screen or accidentally flicking pages which is frustrating:mad: a thing of the past.

Make it $20 and then you have the option to buy or not???

Me too. Thought I was the only person still holding on to the 1st Gen. model. Have you found that yours is getting less responsive and apps crash quite often? Perhaps I should do a complete reset and see if that improves things?

In order to avoid crashes on the first gen you need to have as few apps open as possible or if it crases then close down all open apps besides the one you need. Sometimes it even crashes then...

Unfortunately it got way slower with iOS5 and I wish I could go back to iOS4.

Overall it still works really great. I mainly wish it was lighter and hope for the next model.

well i think that the retina mini will be ready for september launch but it would cannibalize the new ipad sales, so i think that they will wait until early 2014 for release it.

then, you must have weak hands, because the current one is not heavy.

The current 10 inch ipad is heavy. Which is why I got a mini because I got tired of louging a brick around.

I feel like the ipad mini is a good weight.

to each its own..but i never had a problem holding it with one hand..

It's all personal preference, but yes, for me anyway, the Mini size is much better. It's far more convenient for reading, for carrying, for, well, lots of things. I can stick my mini in my back pocket of my jeans. Heck, I can fit my Mini (amazingly) in the FRONT pocket of my jeans, as long as I don't sit down with it in there. I just much prefer the size. Apparently a lot of people feel the same way, as the mini has been outselling the full size iPad since it was released. Now, some of that is surely due to the lower price point, but that certainly isn't the case with all of the demand.

I have a mini and agree with you about the convience but I can't wait to purchase an iPad 5. I went fom an iPad 4 to see how I'd like the mini. I do love the portability of being able to place it in a pocket, depending on my pants at the time, but I would much rather have a bigger screen for working. Hopefully the redesign of the full size will be that much better

I would be torn. I had a mini for a few weeks before returning it for a 4. The mini has awesome portability, but the 4 has an incredible screen. Decisions decisions :)

I went in the opposite direction as you. At times I wish I had kept the 4. Well most of the time but I seem to purchase one every time one comes out. I need to stop doing that lol
