Or people who don't care about having the latest thing, don't have time or energy to swap phones every year, have learned to never buy first gen apple stuff and its inevitable bugs (iphone 6+ touch disease, etc.), and prefer something that's stable and polished.

But to each their own...
Those people skip the new iPhone every year, because every new iPhone model has some new feature that’s not yet stable. They buy the SE, and then complain about feature parity.

Based on the report that the current X was actually finalized last Nov., wouldn’t we be looking at a new device that is finalizing here shortly?
Meaning if this is to happen, it’s already happened?

"Android been had this." Lol. I can't wait to hear those comments in 2019. It's sad and ridiculous.

This could be very useful, fun and open up a lot of avenues for us to add awesome things to our apps and games.
If it’s done well of course and, well, it’s Apple, they probably will get it right (eventually:D)

That was my first thought when they introduced the front camera system; where they can bring camera tech and photography once they bring their true depth tech to the main camera. This could be the next major advancement in photography and give completely new options on after processing when you get a RAW file with extended data.

Definitely coming seeing as part of the API in ARKit is for plane detection and we can only select horizontal as the property currently, this would sort that issue out immediately.

Only thing that would surprise me is that they wait until 2019 to do it, felt this was coming in the X, then it didn't so assumed it would be in the 2018 phones, not the year after.

I am all of those things, but I still bought an iPhone X. It's not a beta product.

But they have the time and energy to post over here on macrumors saying upgraders are dumb. So...
[doublepost=1510673186][/doublepost]I have a different wishlist for the 2018 iphones:

-a x plus version! With 3 camera’ s on the back, an additional wide angle lens, like the LG v30.
-ceramic back, that is shatterproof
-titanium or also ceramic frame instead of steel.
-better microphones. They need to inprove the sq when recording, and it needs to be more accurate, so it really can recognize your voice(voice id, lol!), so “he siri” isn’ t triggered by other voices.

How difficult could a 3d sensor be for a multi billion dollar company to work out?

Extremely difficult if the goal is for it to be robust, accurate, fast, consume a minute amount of power, miniaturized to occupy a tiny volume in a mobile phone, operate over a wide temperature range, and manufacturable at reasonable cost with very high yields in volumes of 200+ million units a year (548,000+ units a day).

Other than that, not a biggie.

What's your assessment?

Neither was the 6+ until about a year in the touch disease started popping up! Most bugs/design flaws take time to uncover...but since you seem to upgrade rapidly thats not an issue for you.

I never called anyone dumb...

This is not a huge surprise, and supports Apple's aggressive push into AR. Tangentially, it also speaks to why TouchID is history.

The way Apple is transforming the iPhone.. I have a feeling it will soon be available at Home Depot and Lowe's. Imagine all the construction works related measurements and design you could do using AR. Waiting to see iPhone in a box next to drills and impact drivers in the hardware isle.

SOOooooon..... soon they will map reality, and everyone, and once they map it enough and the CGI-AI develops along with processor power---THEY WILL MIMIC REALITY AND RESHAPE YOUR OPINIONS VIA FAKE VIDEOS CREATING FAKE NEWS!!

BUWAHAHAHA!! IT'S ALIVE!! ALLLIIIVVVEE!!!

Oh sorry, no you didn’ t but since you seemed to give an opinion of a group of users, i generalized. There are plenty of examples of people waiting for the next version and calling upgraders “ dumb” .

With that logic ... never buy anything ever.

Because the majority who knock the iPhone X are not using logic, they're simply reacting off emotion because of something they don't approve of in terms of features or capabilities they don't like. I know the member you quoted was likely being facetious in their Post, but from my readings, I am amazed how many Judge Face ID with snark comments and not once have they ever used it, which they openly admit.

I am super excited for Face ID and can not wait until the X Plus comes out next year. The reduction in physical size from a plus to an X is what I dont like, i picked up the X and instantly found it uncomfortable to use compared to the larger plus (big hands :) ). I would love to have an X otherwise.

Yeah, i know.
First comments i got was: home much did you pay? And that is from people carrying a s8 or note 8 for a subscription of $65 each month for 2years,
I got it without a simlock and use a subscription of about $16 a month. You calculate what is cheaper.
And they seem to know everyting that is wrong with the iphone x, crackling sound, green line, cold screen, etc.
Mine doesn’ t have these issues, though.

Why can’ t people just be a little more positive about other peoples stuff.
