Yeah, but is it truly that hard to achieve? I feel like Razer did a fairly good job with their anodization process. The laptops look very black in most lighting conditions. If you ignore the reflected light, it's pure black.

Never had a matte black MacBook? What about 2006-2008 matte black edition?

The most impressive color for Macs has always been white. Aluminum/silver is ok, but white was gorgeous. I'm not in for these dark trends, it looks like PC/Android to me.

Black might be cool to look at, but it is also a massive heatsink. You don't want to leave that sucker sitting in the sun.
Surprisingly, it's not getting much hotter due to black body radiation. I spoke to the inventor of Vantablack because we created a super black tshirt and he confirmed.

If they could create a true matte black finish. As close as technically possible. Say similar to Vantablack. It really would be mindblowing. You wouldn't see depth. It would be like a black silhouette.

This is how crazy it could look.

I'm assuming they'd refrain from making the keyboard, apple symbol and ports pure black.

As a shareholder I do hope they charge $200 extra for each of those black MacBooks just like back in the day when the first black MacBook was launched.

I have a Space Gray MBP and would love a true matte black. Space Gray is pretty much dull silver.

I like this idea far too much. Maybe that's the whole point... leave it out of the lineup for long enough, and people will clamor for it. Then, a few more years down the line people will be begging for silver again.
