I think Microsoft is more innovative than Apple, I mean they made Kinect, a huge innovation.

Actually, it was a small israeli company, PrimeSense.

Along theses lines, the one really good use of the iPhone's gyro/accelerometer/compass is for stargazing. Apps like SkySafari and skyview allow you to point your phone to the sky, and show what stars and constellations you are looking at.

Actually Primsense only provided the range camera technology. Rare provided the software technology. They both teamed up.

Yes, and to be fair, microsoft actually did most of the software development that made it a real product. There was a good article, I think on arstechnica, that went into great detail of the development.

Also, Microsoft Surface was innovative.

I thought someone else developed Surface and Microsoft just bought it.

Back-On-Topic, I was driving around and I think of a great use for this 3D thing... as a mapping interface that would show a "movie" of a route you would take to a location. Or live, in combination with a GPS, as you make a turn, the map would turn, too. Various points of interests could be featured, as well as advertiser restaurants and stores.

Hmmm, I'd rather not need to spin around in cirlces looking for apps on my home screen. This seems a little strange, interested in seeing if it goes anywhere and if it does, how they implement it… Definitely seems like "fluff" that would just get in the way.

LOL that would look really funny standing on the bus spinning.
I think with the snap to feature you could just snap your wrist a bit to flip the cube like interface. It looks really cool to me and would love to se this.
My favorite tweak with a JB is the barrel roll tweak. When you slide from screen to screen it looks like you are flipping a cube.

That was all done with the eyetoy on the PS2. No Innovation there. Voice control was done also and every camera I own has facial recognition. I hope you were kidding.
