Firstly I was not speaking about my company, that is very obvious, and secondly no, your living in a dream world if you truly believe your second comment. That may be the case in your country, but elsewhere we have laws that handle it, no internal secret spy team required to spy on staff of small businesses.
You have laws that handle a situation… that never gets reported because no one is watching for it. You’re saying that in your country, in your company, (your company that you said deals with sensitive data) that there’s no one on staff tasked with protecting the transmission and use of that sensitive data? Not even with dealing with the data of folks from GDPR nations?

Like I said, sounds like a data breach waiting to happen.

EDIT: Which, I guess, is why American companies, like Tesco, hires folks like Keith Garnish as their head of Corporate Investigations.

Asi said I never mentioned my company, and no one is looking over your shoulder apart from management, maybe they would have to report anything suspicious higher up, but even so it would still be the Police who investigate.
From what you are saying it seems that you are constantly watched and scrutinised during your working day. In my country we don’t have that environment and have laws that protect data, and the number of data leaks seem to be very low which suggests the method is working.
And who is Tesco? The only Tesco I know off is the British supermarket chain.

Asi said I never mentioned my company,
I quote:
I work for a giant corporation and we do sensitive work, yet my employer never feels the need to spy on its employees or their families, it actually has an element of trust with us.
You never mentioned that you work for a giant corporation? I mean, if you never typed that, then I guess that’s all that needs to be said! Sorry to assume that you did.

I’ve already done a fair amount of searching (because this seemed REALLY incredible if it were true) and have found many companies, including the most valuable ones based in the UK, that have corporate investigation staff. AND, I might add, I’ve found several UK based companies that provide corporate investigation services to other UK based companies.

You've taken my comment totally out of context, and that also relates to your second comment. I was discussing in the context about small companies who don't have these investigation staff you mention. I have no idea about big corporations. But I can assure you they are not spending their days watching over the shoulders of thousands of employees as you seem to be implying.

Even though you work at one? Search your intranet and see if you get any hits for “corporate investigations”. If you don’t, your big company would appear to be one of the few in the UK that don’t have a corporate investigation team.
