I don't know who's responsible for the Apple TV+ content and whether it's profitable but besides Servant and probably a few others, the rest is a dull mass of intentionally inoffensive content. Hopefully with a new management that would change but I highly doubt it.

Speaking of inoffensive content, it would be nice if for things like For All Mankind they had a beeped version. I'd like the kids to see it and they nearly can except a few inappropriate words for their ages.

Maybe the turmoil explains why Apple Classical hasn’t materialized yet.
Apple Classical is already here. Take a look at the Classical category in Apple Music. You will see that it‘s home page has already been transitioned to include the Primephonic experience - I am a former Primephonic subscriber. All Playlists and “essentials“ compilations that used to be tagged as Apple Music are now tagged as Apple Music Classical. To complete the transition post-Primephonic, Apple only needs to fix the search algorithm to accommodate the unique needs of Classical music and add Digital Booklets (I.e., liner notes) with each album.

IMO, there will be no Apple Classical app. It never really made sense and still doesn’t.

Just from going out doing ordinary things like shopping or sledding or playing sports, mine had heard all of the ones on George Carlin’s “7 words you can’t say on tv” list before they even made it to middle school.

When everyone else is raising prices because the cost to create content is going up, Apple's going to go the opposite direction? 🤣

The only way you'll see a lower Apple TV+ subscription price is if Apple offers an ad supported tier.

Haven't seen Servant yet, but it's on my watch list. Currently finishing up season 2 of Ted Lasso. Now I know why there's so much positive things being said about the show. It's good. Better than I expected.

The Morning Show is another good show. Looking forward to season 3.
Spotify didn't raise price, at least not yet. The Apple TV+ price increase is non-sense. There's some good stuff, but just not enough content for what they charge. That said, I can't wait for Severance Season 2!

I'm skeptical that something cannot be inoffensive, or needs to offend, to be considered quality. There's a difference between a poor quality show and one that is done well but happens to not suit your tastes. I know I find Ted Lasso excruciatingly boring, but I can see the appeal. If the show needs to offend then they better be making a good point, like South Park does.

Apple TV+ content has murder, violence, deceit, sexual themes...all of the things that many people find offensive. That being said, most of the shows aren't very good. They're not terrible, but they're missing something. I can't put my finger on it, but they're all quite dull and forgettable. I've enjoyed a few, but even the ones I've enjoyed are pretty meh compared to shows on other services.
What is there live action that isn't R or worse? Only thing I found so far other than Peanuts or Fraggle Rock or Luck was Spirited

Exactly. That's why I don't take critics of Apple TV+ content seriously when they start talking about how Apple is pushing an agenda or dictating what kind of characters we see on screen. All of that is just code for prejudice.

I dont care for a lot of the content, that being said Severance, Tedd Lasso, Foundation, and some alien show the rest just are forgettable. Is there an agenda? Maybe, it feels like it some shows such as Truth Be Told, Mosquito Coast, although arguably not a bad show.

Why on earth are the piling up the awards every year?

A lot of the shows should have a clean version so the whole family can enjoy them. I feel like the need for every show to be graphically adult only in some way removes the potential impact if it could be viewed by a more complete audience. It’s either you expose kids to the worst of our culture or you place them in a cocoon. It’s the same with music. It’s a world of extremes.

For the same reason Oscar nominated movies are cr*p. They are not made to be entertaining anymore. They are made to be approved by the jury. Some people apparently can’t understand that when you try to please everybody you end up with a boring stuff that won’t please anybody. It’s like trying to sanitize a p**n movie so it can be watched by the entire family.

Why don’t they finally just kick out Eddy Cue?
Why should they?!

MobileMe failure.

iCloud, Apple’s website and store front, ApplePay backend GENIUS!!

All the hate against Eddie Cue is completely unfounded and blindsided!

Start to research Apples early days from being one of THE first corporations with a fully functioning internet site until 2019 and then speak your unfounded hatred.

There is a VERY big reason Jobs pictured with specific executive staff members included Eddie Cue despot Eddie barely being on stage.

You should be asking why is software lead Craig speaking about encryption from drive to the cloud and NOT Apple’s security head!!?

Eddie doesn’t spend too much time on stage or via services announcements due to Ui doing his job not lip flapping. That’s a reason he serves o. The board of Ferraris and while Craig doesn’t seem on any other companies board!

Eddie has earned his chops and done MORE work more ground work for Apple in so many more areas than ANY executive bar-none!

Good! Now hopefully prices for Apple TV+, and Apple Music will be lowered in the future.

This cannot be a good thing right away. Too many shuffling around could lead to the wrong people in charge for each service and it’s direction.

ATV+ was killing it and I’m looking forward to Foundation but I worry with this shuffle Canadians and others will wait another 3-5yrs before seeing a hint of AppleCard coming.

To be the head of ALL of apples services business one needs long term first hand in the trenches knowledge and experience. I’m concerned this can screw things up a bit. This is one part, and a significant part, of Apple’s business that many of us are not aware of the nuances.

Most likely your kids KNOW the words already from school or their friends.

Enjoy they respect you and the family so much they do NOT utter them in your presence (you’re doing a SUPER Job if not even in front of teachers and your GOD-LIKE if not even alone and in their worst moments never curse). Allow them the introduction from you …

You know like that PG-14 really meant and have a conversation about it. Not just that it’s wrong but in certain circumstances useful and acceptable (like a terrible wrong against the family or loosing a family member they just witnessed and have difficulty expressing). Then discuss when it can be perceived as a lack of intellect for expression using other words. You get what I mean I hope here. That way it’s a family discussion not a family shock and rever to don’t do this or that mode. This way they grow with you joy apart from you. ;)

It’s a great show so watching it with them and talking bait the better parts and themes will ultimately rule and shun the cursing entirely to be forgotten by them. FYI days if the boob-tune is gone. Our shows are discussion pieces ;)

One love.

After party is pretty good. And Severance. But yeah there’s not much on there it seems.

I liked slow horses and Shantaram, and they recently wrapped up the third season of See. Will probably work on Echo next. I seem to be getting more mileage out of it compared to Netflix, in the very least.

Ad supported tiers are most likely the path they’re taking if they follow the current trends in the streaming world.
