Two things. 1, MagSafe will always in my mind be that genius idea of magnetic charging plug on MacBooks. 2, that humpy wallet thing looks horrific, we had this before with the battery charging cases - that also looked horrific. The clear cases with that on button type diagram, looks unfinished. The phone however look spectacular, a nice nod to the iPhone 4 form factor.

It's just a QI charger, of course it is compatible.

There are no magnets in your 11 though, it won't "stick" through magnetic attraction.

Ah, that's good to know, so it'll charge AirPods and older iPhones nonetheless, but without the "perfect alignment".

Will the magnets in the charger have some kind of "negative influence" on these devices, though?

Will this be safe for people with a pacemaker if they have it in shirt pocket ?

The new dual charger looks great, but now you need 2 hands to pick up your phone? It looks like you'll need to use a 2nd hand to hold the charger down (or pull it off after picking up the phone). And what happens if your watch is charging on the other half of that dual charger, it gets tipped over if you don't push down on the charger soon enough?
Yes because didn’t come across this scenario when they designed it ...

more importantly this new charger is not on the website yet ?

I can’t find the leather case for iPhone 12 . Only silicone and clear and the leather wallet

If I use a Spigen Ultra Hybrid case (my case of choice), will MagSafe work? Or if I want to use a case, do I need to buy Apple's MagSafe case? Basically - does using a non-apple case on the 12, kill MagSafe? (which is crap if it does).

Nah, I've used cases with magnets built in and never had a problem with wireless charging or anything else.

So, being exposed to a magnet field (from the MagSafe charger) cannot damage an iPhone 11 (or older), AirPods, ...?

So with a metal credit card in wallet (like the Apple Card), will this still charge!?
If you have a card wallet stuck on the back of an iPhone today with this card in it will it charge? It would be no different. I expect I would remove the magnetically attached wallet before charging successfully.

No, it definitely wouldn't charge with a wallet attached. I used similar Mous cases with a wallet clip on and it introduces too much space to charge over Qi.

true. But Apple has never sold their own wallet before. And if you have to remove your card or the wallet before it can charge then this is a massive fail!

the official page for the wallet thingy says it's shielded and thus credit cards are safe.

I disagree that it's a fail but YMMV. You weren't really able to wirelessly charge a phone before with a hard to remove wallet case which eliminated that type of wallet carry. With MagSafe at least the inconvenient aspect of that is gone. So to me, it's a win. As long as my wallet doesn't come off too easily.

That would be expected else Apple could never sell such an attachment :) Now, whether or not you can charge through that wallet case is another story, and if you could, would that damage cards?
