I wonder if it might be something about the new huge server farm?
Wasn't that supposed come online this year some time?

Either the new iPad which is scheduled for the end of 2010 soposedly, or the new Apple TV they talked about, doubt its iPhone related.

I'm kind of tired of "something big" from Apple. Just do "something right" first and take it from there.

I do like the idea of being able to scan in a new purchase, have it log it, make the manuals available for you, register it for you etc etc.

However, that is like a pretty basic app, and wow cool is not something massive.

Also what is with that screenshot? All those titles are very mundane things, so I don't see how it ties to the story at all.

The article clearly stated that these announcements are usually not product related....so why does everyone think it's Apple TV?

Wasn't there a rumor awhile back that the retail stores would start using beefed up iPod touches to process orders? They were encased in some thicker plastic and had a credit card scanner... This is probably what's coming.

Isn't that what they are using now? That's what I got rung up w/ for my iPhone 4.

Guess its been awhile since I've made a purchase at the actual apple store. Last time I was there they just had the regular generic portable POS system. It definitely wasn't an iPod Touch. Or maybe these systems haven't made their way international yet.

RTFA guys. It says its most likely a retail thing, as in not a product but a new service offered in their stores.

Though who knows, it might be the iTunes Cloud thing that's rumored.

i remember a post saying that a touchscreen iMac with both osx and iOS will be released within the next few months... maybe this?

Gotta be Apple TV.

The Android version is hitting stores this Autumn isn't it? The timing would be consistent with Apple trying to steal a march on them.
