I can't believe people go gangbusters for these Black Friday deals that aren't any better than simply shopping around any other time of the year. The local Best Buy had people lining up starting last Thursday, tent and all. All of that hassle to save a few bucks and/or pick up a fourth-tier product? Odds are they will probably return it after the holidays anyway.

When I first saw the leaked BF ads I was like Oh Wow! Look at some of those prices for 40" plus Tvs and other things. Well, now some days/weeks have passes I couldn't really care about the deals as I add up my time waiting in lines and other such stuff it isn't really that much of a deal for me especially when they are probably not the greatest quality items.

Oh, and I silently laugh at those who will be waiting in line in the Pacific Northwest rain.

I will probably walk to Staples for some small items.

EDIT: I share some seemingly pertinent sale info... someone votes me down. People are strange. FYI: Amazon & MicroCenter are just as reputable as BB, if that's what that was about. It's not like i'm talking about some grey-market Brooklyn dealer... Just sayin'.

Double-EDIT: Hmmm.... maybe the vote-down was cuz I called the above story "interesting". If so, fair enough.

I always vote down people who complain about being voted down. You shouldn't care! :)

I'd love a new 4s but am not eligible until next year. D'oh!

You and a few million other people are not eligible.

And, a few million do not have enough money.

And, a few million are under contract to another carrier.

Bottom line - what was the point of the post?

Any chance of refurbished iPad 2's dropping down $49 too? This would put them at $400 for the 16 gb version.

Edit: I didn't realize these are retailers. Does Apple itself usually have any black friday deals online?

just buy a refurb iPad from apple.com

$50 dollars off year round - don't have to deal with the black friday hassle.

Really dunno if i should buy an ipad and grab a deal on a hectic day like black Friday... Some people have died on black Friday

You guys are jumping all over these for trump change savings... interesting.

What do you consider Chump Change? Round here $50 buys a nice dinner for two and $150 buys a REALLY nice dinner for two. Buying my wife dinner can ease the shock of my new "toy". With that said, I bought the MBA from Best buy for 1100 as that was what I wanted and is priced better than any Black Friday Deal.

Now if someone can get me the discounts that Mac Mall and Mac Connection will be running I would really appreciate that (need a new Mac Mini Server and I don't have to pay tax).

Just order it on Friday from the Apple Store online and save the time and headaches. They had them for $41 off last year and will probably repeat something similar if not have the exact same deal again this year.

I can't wait to see what shenanigans BestBuy tries to pull along with the sales.

There was a time when they claimed they were required to open and inspect every Apple product box before you left the store, as in break the seal. Yeah, now it's an "opened" product, so you can't return it for full credit anymore.

...and hiding merchandise, so they can claim it's out of stock, and claim that an extended warranty purchase is required to get that price, or you have to pay list price, and "you might as well buy the warranty because it's still less than list price".

I've seen Target ad scans with $25 iTunes cards for $20.

Does anyone know if I can pay for iTunes cards with my Target credit card for an additional 5% off? I'd like to grab a few of those for stocking stuffers.

I wonder why the ad shows the before-discount price in large, bold letters. Seems like it would be more attractive to show the lower price.

They are not contractually allowed to advertise a price that is $xx.xx below MSRP on Apple products. It's part of their agreement, and common practice.

Same reason you see "add to cart to see price" on Amazon for some items.

Though the point of my post is indeed debatable, I think we can all agree that there's no point to a post bitching about my pointless post.
